Club Alvorferias

Was under staffed but they worked hard and was vary accommodating, food was unappetising, no entertainment for kids or adults bar closed at 22:00, pool was just ok din't like the thick green line around the sides. No lifts every where had stairs to get to.

Kitchen and bathroom were dated but the apartment was huge& we weren't going to let some 1980's kitchen cupboard doors spoil our holiday. Being next to the roundabout meant we could hear noise from cars crossing the rumble strips but we got used to that. Reception staff were friendly and polite as were those in the bars. Overall a very pleasant stay.. There was the usual morning rush to reserve a subbed many of which didn't get used until the afternoon but we simply put our towels down on the surrounding grassed area. Algorithm is only a short walk away with a huge choice of restaurants and an 'always open ', or so it seemed, well stocked supermarket.

food quality poor ate out most of holiday although we paid for all inclusive. requested downgrade to self catering but declined. Rep service also poor beds basic was glad to get back home bargain basement holiday very disappointed

These apartments altho dated are lovely, the staff are friendly and welcoming my only gripe is that you have to walk up/down a hill to get anywhere. Alvor is a lovely place but very quiet, it was half term week and lots of the shops were closed?

We booked our stay and flight as a package with Jet2. Considering what we have paid, we did not expect much. Apartment was bigger than we thought, very specious and clean however a bit tired. Beds were a bit hard but manageable for a week. In general, we enjoyed oour stay at this hotel

Stayed at Club Alvorferias, good location but about 1 mile from the beach, if you are a little infirm there aren't any lifts, so if you have a second floor apartment you will have 31 marbel steps to climb. Excellent pool, small one for small children, a good cafe at the pool. The beds we had were very firm.

Myself and my partner booked 10 days in the Clube Alvorfieras at the start of September, it was a lengthy bus ride to the hotel but we were fortunate enough to get an air conditioned, WiFi equipped minibus as there were only 8 of us needing transported. When we arrived at the hotel it was 3 hours before we could check in as check in was at 4, luckily we were pre-warned to have swim suits in our carry ins so we just relaxed at the pool in the mean time while our bags were kept at reception. When it came to finding our room it was a struggle - the hotel consists of multiple apartment buildings so navigating about was difficult (especially with 2x 22kg cases) but when we finally found our room and carried our bags up 2 flights of stairs the apartment was lovely - very clean and very spacious. We had one master bedroom and one spare bedroom that had a small balcony to the rear, a bathroom with a toilet, bath and shower and a separate toilet with a shower, a large kitchen and a large living room complete with dining table which both led out onto the large balcony to the front. The apartment had one double bed, 2 single beds, 1 pull out bed and the couch could also be used as a bed. My main issue with the apartment was that we couldn’t have too many appliances on at one time or the fuse would blow - so we couldn’t have 3 lights on plus the air con, or boil the kettle/ use the microwave and do anything else at all. The room was cleaned 4 times during our stay with fresh towels and linens which was enough for us. The customer service wasn’t very good but we didn’t need to visit reception much. The hotel has 2 pools the first right at reception is mainly used by families and was always busy but if you could be bothered tracking up the two flights of stairs and across the bridge to the second pool it was much quieter. There was a bus ran by the hotel that was 2 euros each and ran at 9:30, 12:30 and 5:30 and it was about 5 minutes in the minibus which would have taken about 20 minutes to walk. We spent most of our time by the quieter pool. We were self catering however often had lunch from the restaurant- their day food was lovely, we mainly had toasties and burgers however we did go there for a meal one night and were very disappointed - would not recommend the restaurant across the bridge however the cafe at reception was much better with nicer food! The town was a 10 minute walk away down hill however all of the restaurants were then all up a steep hill.

On arrival at our self catering on the Monday, I had to go to the reception on the Friday, to request our room to be serviced, we hadn't received any fresh towels, bedding or toilet paper in that time. Although this was attended to immediately, the bedding still wasn't changed on this occasion, we received fresh bedding on the following Monday.

Yes its a 3 star self catering complex, though the electrics kept blowing the fuse and when we questioned was told always happens its safe, cleaner missed 3 days and had to ask twice for it to be cleaned, cooker wouldn't work & didn't find the staff friendly and they all looked miserable, prices well above the mark, over all we could have had a better holiday for the same money elsewhere
