ATOL - or Air Travel Organiser’s Licence – has operated since 1973 and was formed by the UK government. It’s a financial protection scheme that covers you when you book a holiday with a UK ATOL holder. If a company ceases trading, such as if it’s been placed into administration, the ATOL protects you from losing money and offers assistance whilst you’re abroad.
By law, all holidays where a flight and accommodation has been booked together must be covered by an ATOL. For every person that buys a Jet2holiday, we pay £2.50 into a fund that’s used by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) so that if something does happen to us, we can still guarantee that you’ll complete your holiday and get home safely, or, if you were yet to go on your holiday, receive a full refund. This means you can guarantee your money is safe and if you’re already abroad you’ll get home by transport organised by the CAA at no extra cost.
All the holidays on our website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay, you’ll be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. In the unlikely event that you do not receive your certificate, please contact us to ask for it and once received, check it to ensure that everything you booked with us (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it.
