Morning
Waking up to a chorus of birdsong could well be your reality here in Corfu. Those hunting for history should begin at Vlacherna Monastery or the more centrally placed Old Fortress – both offer nods to the past and great photo opportunities. Elevenses is best spent in a taverna by the waterfront.
Afternoon
If being by the sea is what a retreat is all about for you, then tick off lots of town-hopping before embarking on a boat trip. You might wish to voyage to neighbouring islands or even to fascinating sea caves instead. It just so happens to be a wonderful way to bask in the rays.
Evening
Post-sundown equals wining and dining. As so many of Corfu’s exports involve olive and grape products, that agenda couldn’t be simpler here either. Chalkboards boast charred meat, just-hauled-in seafood and roasted vegetable dishes to delight in, but finer dining options await too.
