Macedonia Hotel

I was concerned by the planes going over to reach the airport runway. But then found it exciting and it only happened during the day so did not disturb our sleep. This was a great location, friendly staff, very clean and great food in the bar area. We will be booking this hotel again.

Third successive stay at Hotel Macedonia.It just ticks every box and meets every requirement.Great location for both beach and main strip,safe as houses for all guests of all ages, spotlessly clean and well maintained, pleasant gardens and pool area, comfortable rooms including shower rooms that are cleaned every other day to a very high standard well stocked bar and a food menu to suit all.Already booked for visit number four.

Hotel felt a bit dated compared to some I have stayed at in Zante. However, staff are fantastic and one of the pool bar staff even recognised me from the hotel she was working at last year. Reception staff are great and very accomodating with nothing too much trouble. Hotel is great for the beach just down the road but a bit out of it if you like to visit the bars and restaurants in the centre of Zante. Had a 1 bedroom apartment which only had a tv in the bedroom and airconditioning in the bedroom which meant that we had to have the patio door open during the night in the front room where the son was sleeping which did not feel very safe as we were on the ground floor. Also, one of the locks on the bedroom patio was broken so had to hire safe just in case. However, with everything said, you get what you pay for and this was good value.

lovely hotel friendly staff and close to the shops the only downside is the showers are to small you cant bend down or even shampoo yourself..plus theres not much in the hotel itself for enterment you had to go to town for that and the choice of food was not great.

The hotel was not very child friendly. The people staying at the hotel were elderly returning people and there was one couple who moaned the whole 10 days we were there if the children were in the pool because she wanted the pool free for her husband to swim up and down continuously! Really made us feel very uncomfortable and even moaned at two guys who jumped in the pool and the guys never returned. It was awful and the staff let her carry on moaning at everyone.

The hotel Macedonia is basic but clean and well maintained. Cooking facilities are extremely limited, just a kettle, toaster and two ring electric hob, there is no microwave, oven or grill. Balcony was large and spacious and equipped with table and chairs and small clothes drying rack. This hotel is very close to the airport, almost on the end of the runway and planes fly over very low, I personally didn't mind this, in fact I quite liked it, but I would imagine some people would not like the noise the planes make. In conclusion I would say that this is not a bad hotel and you get what you pay for.

Booked well over 14 month ago and yet my room got double booked and I was ten stuck with a room in the staffing quarters which wasn't up to Scratch at all. Electric kept tripping out at half past 6 due to the sprinkler system coming on every night which was annoying as that was the time I was getting ready to go out and after the power cut there was no hot water for a shower

Friendly. Lovely staff. Very clean. Looked after family run hotel .everything close by. Supemarket just at the too of the road.beach very close by. Bars and resturants all close by, olive tree does amazing food, great food everywhere. Macedonia have karaoke on friday nights. Been back 3 times now. Fab place

We would return in a heartbeat. Ideal family hotel - clean, friendly and has all the amenities to keep kids occupied. The staff will do anything possible for you. It feels like home from home. Do not hesitate to book and do take a taxi to Taverna Lambros for your meals - the best food in Kalamaki.

The hotel was very good, extremely clean. The only down side to this hotel is that it is situated approximately 400 yards from the flight path for all incoming flights onto the island. These flights regularly start at 0430-0500 each morning and continue until 2230-2300 each night. There are restrictions in place outside these times due to the Loggerherd Turtles having laid their eggs. It was very good value for money, and was quite close to the local shops, bars and restaurants. The rooms are fairly basic, but at the end of the day it's only required for somewhere to get your head down. The pool area was of a decent size, was clean, and more than enough sunbeds/loungers for everyone. The price of the drinks was very reasonable compared to other surrounding establishments, and the food was of a good quality also served in the bar area. The location of the hotel in Kalamaki was central enough, for you to be able to go anywhere else on the island.

My family and I stayed at the Macedonia hotel for one week in June. The hotels location is great and it's facilities are OK but the staff ruin it. It doesn't matter how much money you spend in the hotel the staff struggle to break breath and hardly ever smile. It's self catering but yet you are not allowed to consume any of you own items round the pool. If you approach them the speak in one word responses. They put a damper on the whole experience.

My Wife & I stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2015, the 1 bed apt we stayed in was excellent, great location in the Hotel, spotless & well set out, Loved It! We're going back for 3wks in June, Cant Wait
