Agoulos Beach

The room had a lovely view from our balcony but that is about all I can say was good. The staff were unhelpful and not friendly. The cleaner only emptied the bins and did no cleaning at all. I had to run after her a few times to get clean towels and more loo paper. We got the impression that as the season was nearly ended that there was a "couldn't care less" attitude. Maybe if it gets an overhaul before the summer starts it might improve, but the cleanliness was not good and, we would not go back.

On arrival steps were very steep and uneven. No help offered with bags at any stage. Also lift was broken throughout our stay.Our first room was very cramped, having to take turns to pass the end of the bed. Mattress was very hard making sleeping difficult. Second evening fumes from boiler flue made sitting on balcony impossible due to nausea from the strong smell. On reporting this we were told they were aware of the problem and hadn't got round to fixing it. We were offered to change rooms next morning. Again no help offered with bags. Second room was a lot bigger but smelt of damp. Walls looked okay and bedding was fine, but inside cupboards had mould on them. Not wanting to make a fuss we resorted to burning inscense sticks whislt we were in the room to mask the smell. Pool and surrounding area were satisfactory but rooms we saw were very dissapointing. The overall appearance of accomodation was dated and had make do and "mend at some" stage attitude.

On arriving at the hotel it seems okay....the reception area is well maintained, clean and modern...but it ends there...the rooms are awful. Very old fashioned, not maintained, dirty, holes in sheets, kitchenette area is filthy. Everything is mis-matched. Cant regulate warm water for a shower - its either VERY HOT - or VERY COLD. Very disappointed with this accomodation.

We booked here especially for the location & view , absolutely stunning to see from your bed when you wake up, staff are so friendly & we felt so comfortable staying there. Rooms are basic but for the price was satisfactory . Food was good & everywhere was clean & spotless, The seafront location was the best a quick dip whenever you wanted as the sea was beautiful , Certainly will book again .

Ok but not enough information about about any events happening at the location.Great cocktail bar with live acts but if you don't go into reception you wouldn't know about it.Great location,good swimming sand all the way once you get in.

Agoulos Inn was the perfect location for me and my partner - we wanted a hotel beside the sea, in a quiet spot not far from amenities. On arrival, check-in was very quick and we didn't have to queue.Opening the door to the room, the first thing I noticed was the seaview through the double-doored balcony and I was so happy. There was an excellent quality patio table and chairs on the balcony - not the usual white plastic furniture that you get! If we were back at the hotel in time for sunset, we were able to catch the sun going down from the balcony. I was never up early enough for sunrise! At night-time, we kept the balcony doors open (we were upstairs - so it was safe enough to do so) and listened to the sea. We kept the outside light on to ward off mosquitos etc. Found it hard to sleep at night . I know this is what many European hotels offer, but I hate getting two single beds put together to make a double as it is not comfortable at all. Our room was basic, but had everything we needed including dressing room table with mirror, fridge, kettle etc. We were self-catering but ate out all the time. However, we did have snacks in the room. A few more kitchen utensils would have been good and also a shower curtain in the bathroom, but these are minor things and didn't take away from the holiday. The hotel staff down at the beach bar are very friendly. When we first arrived at the bar area, the barman called 'Adonis' gave us a big welcome and was very friendly. I enjoyed being served by him during my time there. The other staff were also very friendly. We ate at the hotel a few times- I enjoyed the Greek Salad and the frappes! The bar was reasonably priced for beer as was all of Argassi, however, like the rest of the area, it was expensive for spirits so I didn't have any. To get to the beach, all you had to do was walk down a set of steps and you were there. There is a narrow strip of sand and shingle so at that end of Argassi, there is no real space for sunbathing as such. But I made sure I went into the water every day - it was lovely and warm and also shallow so it would have suited most people. There is a supermarket not too far away - take a right and walk down the hill. It is on the left-hand side. I found it to be fairly priced compared to others in Argassi centre. The staff are very friendly also. The road into town has a very dangerous bends and isn't paved throughout so be careful!

We were extremely disappointed with these apartments.they weren't clean we had to ask for clean linen and towels all the time the bathroom shower flooded the bathroom floor all the time. The fridge was was thick of ice and we woke up one morning to find the fridge had defrosted itself,so water everywhere again. There was next to no kitchen utensils ie plates knives and forks etc no toaster no plug in the kitchen sink. We had to go and buy toilet rolls and kitchen rolls and cleaning stuff to mop the wet floors. We wouldn't recommend this for children as it not safe and to walk into Sargasso there is no footpath until you nearly at Sargasso the traffic serious. Definitely won't be going back. The only plus side was the police who run the pool bar they fantastic and food very good value if you want to eat there.

Had a brilliant holiday here in early June. The view from our balcony was everything one could dream about. Our apartment was kept really clean and the towels and sheets were changed regularly, the kitchen utensils were basic but adequate. Shower and toilet were what we would have expected in Greece but was clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There are quite a number of steep steps around these apartments which people should be made aware off before booking also it stated that there was a lift which was one of the reasons for booking this holiday but unfortunately it did not work and although we managed with some difficulty these facts should be made more clear on the website. This apart, it is still a great place to stay and we had a great holiday.

Very nice people but studios need attention. Nice poolside bar but no beach. WiFi not available in lower floor rooms but OK in reception. Price was very reasonable but probably expected too much from the accommodation. 10 minute walk to nearest well stocked shop and 15 minute walk to centre of town.
