Ixia
An all-in-one beachside hotspot within striking distance of medieval Rhodes Town, there’s plenty to see along this northernmost tip of the island. Palm trees and seafront pavements envelop the inviting cobalt waves, while you’ll find two temples, a monastery and incredible architecture a stone’s throw from Ixia. The sunsets here are pretty impressive too!
A string of pretty beaches run along the seafront at Ixia. Some parts are sandy, while some are shingle, so you’re sure to find a stretch that’s just right for you. A gentle breeze fans the waves around the northern tip of the island, making this a very popular spot with windsurfers.
History on the hill
The nearby Hill of Filerimos is home to an impressive selection of archaeological attractions, including the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Zeus. It’s about a 6km walk from Ixia but well worth the hike – especially when you turn around and see the views across the Aegean Sea to Turkey.
Stroll into Rhodes Town
If you enjoy a good walk, you can reach Rhodes Town in less than an hour on foot, taking in the local beaches and countryside along the way. Once you’re there, you’ll find medieval forts to explore as well as cobbled streets lined with boutiques, cafés and restaurants.
With its huge waves and strong winds, Ixia Beach has all the ideal conditions for water sports like windsurfing, parasailing and kitesurfing. Experts can hire their own equipment and beginners can take lessons....
Standing at just less than 800 meters, Profitis Ilias is a beautiful and imposing mountain in the centre of Rhodes island. It is named after the prophet Elias and you can visit his monastery near the summit....
Monolithos is a small and well-kept village built in the style of an amphitheatre. It is home to a few traditional tavernas, but its main attraction is a medieval castle standing on a 300-foot outcrop. The...
Lovely hotel friendly helpful staff ! The food in the buffet was excellent great choice with themed nights and wonderful desserts. Entertainment catered for all from kids disco to bingo dancers to singers. The self service lager was great and the bar had so writing for all. Extra cost for premium drinks and premium cocktails but worth it the Pina Colada was the best I’ve had. Hotel offers trips to Rhodes town in shuttle bus or there is a public bus stop accross from the hotel. Enjoyed our stay and would love to go back with family. Room overlooked the side of the hotel with a sea view but only if standing. would want a room overlooking the pool and the Beach if came again.

Amazing

Lovely restaurant and entertainment staff. Rooms clean, only draw back no privacy on the loo due to glass door that’s not sound proof. Food and drinks were great. We had the best time and back in September

Not quite perfect - but very good

So let's start with the negatives as that is what most people want right ✅️ 🤔 So room wasn't one we booked, no iron, no kettle or drinks facility in room, and we charged to use the safe €18 which felt like a con. Then there was the night manager whose welcome consisted of two things "passport" and then "€49" 🙄 so don't expect a warm welcome if you arrive after 10pm. Also glad we paid extra for a room in the new part as the old bit is old and some folks were in rooms with no air-conditioning etc.
Right now the positives - stunning location right onto beach. The staff (apart from above) who were all amazing, the food quality and variety was excellent. The entertainment team were hysterical especially George (no running) who was just on form all the time and a nice bloke. Close to Rhodes town but get the local bus for 2 euros rather than the expensive in house transfer. The shop on site was great and well priced and we met loads of nice folk. This is a nice, family and couple friendly location and no mobs or yobs. We will be back soon.

Rhodes Trip
17 May 2024
When we first arrived at the hotel by taxi, at night two of the four stars outside the hotel were loose and not lit up. We check in and were put in a very basic room. We paid for an upgrade but the up grade wasn't much better and the room has no view and was right next to a glass recycling plant so very noisy. The Third Room was ok a had a bit of a pool view. The bar staff were friendly and the food was amazing. But the all inclusive drink was very poor. We ending up buying our own.

Avra Beach

We had a room in the old part of the hotel which needs some TLC - the first room we had wasn't great. The view from the balcony was the gable end of the next building and we couldn't fully open the fridge as it was too close to the bed. We asked to be moved and this was done with no issues the next day. The new room was still in the older part of the hotel so was quite shabby, but we had a lovely view over the garden, the bed was comfy and the room was clean.
The hotel itself is really lovely and there are lots of cleaners keeping on top of it. The food was great and as as a fussy eater I always found something to eat. Great location with easy transport links to other parts of the island. Never had an issue getting a sunbed on the beach and the padded sunbeds are particularly comfortable.
Disappointed the only gyros available were pork and not chicken, but both the Greek and Italian cafes offer a good selection of nice food, and the snack bars were also great.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay here and would stay again.

We decided last min after 3 years with out a holiday abroad. I was al little concerned of reviews around the availability of sun beds but we chose to be on the beach and there was more than enough. The staff from the manager, captain, servers, bar servers, chefs, entertainment, cleaners, reception and the gentlemen who pack up the beds and keep the beach clean are truly amazing and you all made our holiday wonderful you work so hard we can't thank you enough. We had a superior room with a sea view it was grand and cleaned everyday. The food was amazing and we so enjoyed the different options at each meals and cocktails which we have missed coming home. Big big thanks Avra beach!!! The best holiday we have ever had.

Great hotel

Staff were extremely attentive constantly tidying up and cleaning. Bar staff were happy to serve you two or three drinks at a time. The food was varied and particularly good. When all inclusive as would often eat out for some variety. There was no need here.
Plenty of sunbeds though a bit short of umbrelllas. All in all a very good hotel.

Amazing!!

We came to Avra Beach for my sister in laws wedding! The wedding was actually held on the harbour in Faliraki. Despite this, the hotel staff brought us champagne up to our suite for the bridal party to get ready and then upon returning to the hotel after the wedding, there was tables set up in a private area of the bar with another 4 bottles of champagne for our wedding party. Again, none of this was requested and at no extra cost! How amazing!!!! We cannot thank Avra Beach enough for their hospitality. The food was amazing at every meal time, bar and snack bar outside was always stocked and ready to serve all day long! Nothing was too much trouble and it made our holiday completely. There is water sports on the beach at the rear of the hotel too. Entertainment staff are absolutely fantastic so energetic and cater for all not just kids and families.
