Aguadulce is a take-it-easy kind of place. City dwellers from nearby Almeria flock here for relaxing weekenders of sun, sand and sangria. The town's Blue Flag beach is one of the best around and good times are go at the bustling marina, home to a host of Spanish-flavoured restaurants.
A scenic stroll
Flanking the seafront is a smart, tree-lined promenade that makes a prime strolling spot. You can even walk along to Roquetas de Mar, stopping for a few refreshments at the restaurant terraces. If you want a taste of the Wild West as you wander, Tabernas Desert is strangely appealing.
Day-tripping delights
The city of Almeria is bursting with Arab splendour, from its huge hilltop Alcazaba fortress to its network of narrow alleys hiding Moorish-flavoured restaurants. From Aguadulce, you can hop on a bus and be seeing the sights of Almeria in as little as just 40 minutes.
