A bounty of beaches
Sweeping 2km around a sandy bay, Sant Antoni de Calonge Beach will be a hit with sun worshippers. Dinky Can Cristos Beach is only a few minutes’ drive away too, carpeted in sand and lapped by tranquil waters perfect for snorkelling. And these two are just the start – beaches galore await here.
Heaps of history
Hunt down Calonge’s heritage in its medieval heart. Among the inland village, a charming maze of pretty streets are perfect for a potter. Castell de Calonge is a must-see, a wonderfully preserved fortress dating to the 12th century, as is Sant Martí Church.
Wild walks
The Costa Brava’s dramatic coastline is a dazzler, best explored on two feet. The Cami de Ronda is an ancient path, winding along the coast for 43km, passing right through Calonge’s waterfront. Pack your comfiest walking shoes and prepare for sweeping views out to sea.
