Beach living
Calella revolves around its trio of fantastic Blue Flag beaches, and most days here consist of lounging on a sun bed, or snorkelling through sparkly shoals of fish. Along the postcard-perfect promenade, there are ice cream parlours and gift shops, and a few bars to liven up the evenings.
Explore the coast
The turquoise waters and sweeping mountain vistas are oh-so-inviting. Just ten minutes’ drive away is Pineda de Mar, with its great set of beaches and 18th century castle, while you’ll find serious wow factor in the other nearby villages. Think modern architecture with splashes of the past.
