The trembling Temple of Poseidon
You’ll find Cape Sounio in the Attica region of Greece and, at its southernmost point, stands this imposing ancient structure. Dating back to 440 BC, the temple was dedicated to Poseidon, God of the Sea. Its remains cling to the headland and are surrounded on three sides by the bright-turquoise Aegean Sea, so grab your camera and take some out-of-this-world snaps!
Fabulous Greek feasts
Traditional tavernas are here for you to try. So whether it’s the fish dish of the day or a giant veggie meze feast that you fancy, you can enjoy it with a side order of local Greek charm and a lively atmosphere. From town, stroll down to the beach and you can opt for dinner and drinks with a stunning sea view.
Capture the capital
When it comes to day trips, it doesn’t get much better than venturing into Greece’s culture-packed capital, Athens. It’s just over an hour’s drive north and there are plenty of stops along the way if you want to break up the journey. You could enjoy sunrise over the Acropolis and spend your evening in a rooftop cocktail bar overlooking the city.
