Seal the deal

The tranquil Steni Vala shore is where you’ll find a rescue and rehabilitation centre for wounded and orphaned baby monk seals. It’s run by a Greek marine charity that looks after these cute little guys who are native to this part of the Med. Keep your eyes peeled, they sometimes pop up onto the shore to say hello!

Island paradise

Opposite Steni Vala is the lush green island of Peristera. The distance between the two islands is so small, it makes the seawater look like a glistening lake. The island is inhabited by only one family and their large herd of goats who graze in the sunshine on low shrubs that grow here.
