Sol Katmandu Park and Resort

Nothing special, tiny dated rooms, bad quality drinks and food, not so clean, some days entertainment was good for kids

We just came back from out 14 nights holiday in Magaluf at Sol Katmandu. Unfortunately, I cannot give a positive review and a bigger rate. I am not going to write a novel, even thought I should in order to explain and prove everything… but I will summaries: the hotel itself does not deserve 4*; it was a 3* for sure bearing in mind all the aspects… I can understand that businesses have been fairly impacted by lockdowns, but they should then take starts down if they cannot deliver what was promised! Honestly I am shocked Jet2Holidays is recommending this resort as a 4*. First of all, on our first day, after check in, we should have received an email with all the schedules for any entertainment shows, a map of everything so that we know where everything is and opening times - we never did in all the 14 days we have stayed there.. and have asked for that 2 times. Minor detail, but shows how much some employees care of doing their job. Food was dreadful! I am sorry to use harsh word, but it was awful. It is not just a matter of taste or being picky.. it was awful! Lack of taste, lack of choices and no effort to try and make it look more appealing. You would see grown ups queuing for fries and chicken nuggets or chicken burgers at dinners ( as the nuggets were available only at the snack bar). We had all inclusive and we ended up paying for all the dinners at other restaurants. We couldn’t eat any of the prepared foods from there.. nobody could! Chewy and cold steaks, dried chicken grill, tasteless pasta with no parmesan available at any time with no taste in sauces, not even a good pizza for the kids! They had pizza only 3 out of 14 evenings and they were dry or burned! If you do choose this hotel, take the breakfast only option or hotel only, and buy your own food! Let’s say they can do better with cleaning! I am pretty sure the management has cut down costs from cleaning department also, not surprised since they cut down costs from food! But the hotel itself was not very clean, nothing horrendous, but for sure not worth the 4* they keep next to the name. We have seen other 4* hotels when we went on evening walk and they were spot on. This for sure needs renovations and a good and full cleaning team. Lacks entertainment, nothing organised for kids at the pools except a couple of hours on one of the Sunday we spent there; nothing wow for the adults at the pool. The only one was a 30 mind show at evening that they would rotate between 2-3 teams.

This has to be the best hotel in Magaluf by far, the attention to detail to make the hotel the best around is absolutely fantastic, from the check in to the check out every thing was so organised, the staff were so friendly, the meals our brilliant, and the hotel was spotlessly clean, the pool area is fantastic and safe now ( no slippy tiles) I have already booked for next year and that will be my 30th year going to this hotel

Second visit however it was disappointing. Apart from the outstanding daytime entertainment staff,all other aspects were not as good eg food,service,evening entertainment.. The room had very little storage space and wardrobe space was limited.

The hotel was lovely and clean and the park was fab golf could, upside down house , water park ,playgym fab for baby's and my 10 year old could do with a heated pool as it was freezing and at 6 o clock the park closes so the kids didn't have anything to do my son is 10 and not into the shows it just would have been good if the golf was open in the park and if the kids could have pool tables , air hockey ,arcades to keep them entertained more as they do advise there hotel as been good for kids in the day the park was great the food nice and staff very lovely ,helpful the wrist band for the park and wrist band key for everyone including kids was the best thing I have never had this in a hotel every hotel should definitely have this system

I have to say there were extensive building works going on the new pool area but the following comments would be the same.The room was tiny, ok for two but not more, we had our 9 year old daughter with us. The food is worst I have come across for any all inclusive holiday, with most of the dishes being without labels of what they were . The entertainment area, again is poor and badly laid out, with badly behaved children running riot, with no parents stepping in, and potentially an area of conflict. There appears to be a could not care less attitude among the staff with spilt drinks being left. In its defence I have to say the theme park, animation team and the children's club facilities are excellent.

we loved this hotel, everything was just great, staff very helpful and attentive, wide choice of entertainment services, good food with different variety to choose from every day, hotel clean and well maintained, easy access to the beach, two swimming pools, nearby park nice and providing good fun for kids

Rooms are tiny and don't have basic provisions like a kettleCleaning is minimal and not sufficientFood is above average and a good selectionArea is ok for a family if you don't want to stray much further than the hotel or beach.

Don't waste your money. Go somewhere else. If you must go don't go all-inclusive. The room we stayed in was a double room but they built round the balcony to make it into a family room. So we had 4 of us squashed into a room for 2 with no balcony. The food was hit and miss but the restaurant had all the ambiance of a cattle market so the dining experience was awful. The selection of local beer, wines and spirits were vile the cheapest of the cheap. They certainly were not local as nowhere else served them and we know as we had to go out to eat and drink. There was not enough sunbeds or umbrellas to met the demand so we had to go out most days. The park is fine if your kids are under 7 and not easily bored. The refreshments in there are different as the paying public go there. I can honestly say that this was the worst holiday experience we have ever had.
