4R Hotel Salou Park II

Got dropped off, couldn't get into hotel, needed a code! No notice on door nor told by Jet2. Had to check in via Park 1 hotel (a french tourist told us that)! 1st morning woke up to flooded room. Air con unit leaked! Everyday woke to flooded room. Told hotel, did nothing! Restaurant wasn't open, had to use Park 1, again only told by reception. No explanation. Room nothing like photo's (526). Had "employee" in room to fix TV (which wasn't reported or broken), after he'd been we noticed an item missing from our room. We told reception what had happened and were very polite as we wasn't sure if the cleaner may have scooped it up when doing the beds, etc. They called us liars. We then asked for manager (not in as Sunday) so said we would contact police. The next day my husband went to see the manager and miraculously it had been "found" in Park 1 hotel which was extremely bizarre as we hadn't been to the sister hotel at all on the day before (not even for food as went to watch Euro finals). They claimed it was left at the bar, which we never even used during the whole holiday as it wasn't our hotel! Overall extremely disappointed in this hotel and wouldn't recommend.

Very satisfied but food could be hotter Service good. Customer should be informed that hotel on a step hill & anybody with mobility problems would have great difficulty. There was not proiblems for us, but I think this should be mentioned in the brochure.

food very average.having to queue for evening meal.hardly any sun at the freezing pool.we were all inclusive but ate out morning and night on most days.we did try to speak to the hotel manager to convey our disappointment but were fobbed off by the reception staff.

Stayed here for two weeks, having been to Salou we knew the resort but not the hotel, the reviews varied as with many hotels on TripAdvisor. Having stayed in many hotels of various ratings we also have a good idea of standard. Firstly the hotel is in a great location right in the middle of everything, Capallans beach is just above the hotel and the main road through Salou is just down the road. On arriving and being given a room on the 5th floor facing Salou Park Hotel 1 overlooking the pool the room was fine with a newly refurbished bathroom but the balcony door would not lock, raising the problem with reception that we would not unpack etc until the room was secure this was fixed with a new lock within 90 mins, likewise on our last day our room suffered a power cut, the rest of the hotel was fine but our room was without power for about an hour, again the problem was fixed within an acceptable timeframe I think we may have been unlucky. I was quite shocked at the price of the safe for the 14 nights and don't think we have paid as much anywhere. The beds were very hard and although you don't go on holiday to watch television, of 64 channels only 2 English, BBC news 24 and CNN, lots of Spanish as you would expect but lots or French, German and plenty of Russian stations. Towels were changed everyday as the cleaners made the beds and cleaned the room to a certain extent which left a lot to be desired, the toilet was black when we arrived and but for the want of some domestic from the cleaner sadly it stayed as it was. Entertainment was varied and OK, breakfast was as you would expect however on one morning we had to queue for ages to get into the dining room which does not seem adequate, about 45 people queued outside whilst inside a table reserved for 8 never got used, the drinks machines regularly ran out and on seeing that no eggs were available I enquired politely and you would have thought that I had asked for the earth. Evening meals were a disaster, we were half board but lots of fish and pork every night and uncooked chicken was not what we had expected, having eaten twice in the evening and then entered, viewed and exited as quickly on 3 other evenings we opted to not even go there in the evening but chose to eat out, costly but the choice and quality of food was not so good.
