Madeira Panoramico Hotel

This was my fifth stay in 7 years at this nice hotel. Once again the staff are very helpful, with excellent meals and a lovely location with excellent views to the town, coast and the harbour. The hotel minibus service is very useful, although it is a nice walk to the town or to the coastal path. Excellent public transport service passes the hotel, bus stop at the end of the driveway. Well done again to all the staff. Thank you.

Having read all the reviews before heading off, we had a good idea of what lay ahead. What we did underestimate was how steep the walk was from the main restaurant area back to the hotel. The courtesy bus was handy during the day for visits into Funchal but it stopped at 18.00. The hotel was good, once you managed to find your way about. The corridors were dim as previously mentioned in other reviews. The bedding and towels were bright white and clean, breakfast was good and the restaurant was never too busy in the morning. Happy hour between 18.00 and 19.00 where the drinks were half price was a bonus before heading out for the evening. The nights we did see the hotel entertainment was disappointing. Paying for tea and coffee in the room was a first and a disappointment.

The hotel is located high above the West side of Funchal. The property is spread out and has all the facilities expected of a a 4/5 star hotel. Service is good and the rooms well appointed. It is quite a traditional hotel. I would say it is good value for money

Good reception on arrival staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and smiling throughout the week. Room very clean and comfortable.Location a bit out of town on a fairly steep hill. But all of Madeira is on a hill!! View over Funchal great.had to rely on shuttle bus service or local bus which stopped right outside the hotel. Mini bus driver was particularly helpful.Buffet breakfast excellent. No negative comments to make

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very aptly named hotel. We had a sea view room which more than lived up to expectations. It was newly refurbished so was very chic, clean & comfortable with a big bathroom containing a lovely walk in shower. The swimming pool area was lovely overlooking the sea with plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar which did snacks at lunchtime for a reasonable price. The entertainment at night wasn't really up to much but the bar was comfortable enough with a nice terrace. We took full advantage of the happy hour cocktails which were very nice but strong! The staff were all really pleasant and helpful. Although this hotel is quite high up & it"s a bit of a walk into town it is worth it for the views. We would highly recommend a stay here.

My wife and both enjoyed our stay here. Clean rooms and efficient staff. Good breakfast. My only downside was the prices charged for evening meals which worked out at £20 a head without drinks.Would reommend with pleasure

We had a superb weeks holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakast choice was superb and I can recommend eating in the a la carte restaurant for the evening meal. There was entertainment some evenings which was really good.

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. We arrived at hotel before 12 noon and within 20 mins our room was ready. We were given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise the room was very spacious bright and modern with fantastic views over Funchal. Room was very quiet we didnt hear a sound at night even though hotel appeared to be quite full. Hotel reception very helpful and pool side bar staff very friendly. Nice outdoor seating area for breakfast and you could enjoy the views. Pool area did get very busy and as the sun moves round to the side and back of the hotel in the afternoon space in the sun bathing area was at a premium. Downside it was quite a long walk into the town, 20 mins walking at pace all downhill but very steep walk back 40 mins. We used the bus (stopped outside hotel) which was very reliable and top up ticket cost €13 for 10 trips or €1.95 single journey. Entertainment - we only went to the bar one evening to listen to the Fado music which we enjoyed very much.

This hotel was in such a beautiful location. Every night, if I had to get up, I just had to go and look out of the window to see beautiful Funchal. It is a clean and well presented hotel with excellent facilities.

Great hotel, Quite a walk down into Funchal and not for the faint hearted. Entertainment in the hotel was not very good, walking is therefore a requirement. Courtesy bus available until 6pm and taxi prices are reasonable and local buses pass by regularly. We enjoyed the holiday immensely, the sled run was fantastic,the catamarans were great and on the Sunday we negotiated a four hour tour with a private taxi driver which was amazing.

Outstanding hotel and staff, could not have expected more. meal choices were very good with first class service. Hotel provided a free minibus service to and from the town centre, which we use daily. All in all a super holiday, Will be sure to return.

Excellent hotel on lovely Madeira island. Food good, accommodation good, views excellent, best if you have room on the front. We had side room overlooking tennis court, but still had lively view over the bay. Hop on off bus stop (yellow route) just outside hotel entrance. Lovely swimming pools. Everywhere very clean & tidy. Would recommend. On steep hill so good if you're a walker but if not free shuttle bus to town throughout the day. Service bus stops outside hotel and is only 1:35 Euros wherever you go!
