Salgados Beach Villas

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas. Villa itself was very spacious and clean. The area is lovely, taxis were needed to go to old town which is great for families. Stunning beach 5 mins walk with reasonable sun loungers. Hotel pools were nice but we did not manage to get a sun lounger once during our 10 day stay. They should re think the system they currently have for this. Hotel reception staff couldn’t do enough for you however the restaurant staff could be quite abrasive. Glad I did not go half board as we sampled the food in the hotel the first night and was charged 100 euros even though the buffet had almost gone and this was for 4 people with no drinks. The food was not nice and did not look appetising at all. Would go back again, but would definitely give the hotel itself the swerve.

Could not rate this hotel enough. From the food to the staff to the rooms.. everything was perfect. Definitely a more upmarket hotel then I'm used to abroad. Myself and my husband both celebrated birthdays while we were there and were both treated to a surprise bottle of wine and chocolate cake left in our room from management, this was a really nice touch .. will definitely be booking this hotel again 😊

I was advised that this hotel was accessible to wheelchair users but on the first morning I found that I could not leave the hotel building due to the type of surface, basically consisting of small monoblocks. This surface is hardly ideal for someone with a spinal injury and all external areas of the hotel were out of bounds. In the room the hanging rail was approximately 6 foot 5 inches above the ground, again hardly ideal for a wheelchair user whose partner is only 5 foot tall. I had checked that the hotel had a level access shower area but when I arrived I found that the shower bore more resemblance to the type of facility that would have been used in an old hospital. The shower head could not be fixed to the wall to provide a standard shower but instead would have to be used by a third party to shower me. I have been an independent wheelchair user for 25 years and this type of facility in a modern, five star hotel is depressing as if people don't understand the facilities that disabled people need to enjoy their holiday. As a result, we arrived on a Friday evening and by Saturday morning I had phoned the local travel agent and asked her to find alternative accommodation. Eventually, we relocated to another hotel and greatly enjoyed the rest of our holiday.

Excellent property. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed Villa on a half board basis. There was only 3 restaurants in operation the main one , Mamma Mia's & The Japanese. All were very good but I was disappointed that the Seafood one was closed. There was virtually no entertainment other than one live guitarist quality night & Mine act. Ideal if you are a family with very young children or an early to bed person. Was only there 6 nights so it was relaxing, unfortunately too quiet for us. We got a taxi to Albufeira 2 nights (15 euros each way) and ended up having dinner 2 nights there so forfeited our evening meal on these 2 nights. Cracking beach.

Just back from 10 days and can honestly say this place is great. Staff all very friendly and nothing was a bother to them. Food of a good standard and ate lunch at the outside bar every day. Good variety of food . Some reviews complain at waiting to get into evening meal but it was a quick experience. Beach great . Would go back.

We were delighted with the Villa! Vast amount of space & decent size pool. All amenities were provided and the Villa was well decorated & maintained. Cleaning staff were excellent. With the close proximity of the Hotel & beach, we had the best of all worlds. One slight downside was the hot breakfasts at the buffet were often on the cool side. Overall though, a great holiday experience & we have already booked for next year.

The POOL and ROOM were 5 Star. Unfortunately the Buffet, The Bars, The Service, The entertainment, the overall helpfulness etc was 3 star at best sometimes worse Arrived June - Hotel was 40% staffed compared to the Sunday when July gusts arrived. Waited 40 mins to sit in poolside snack bar day one, then 35 minutes to get bottle of water then 50 minutes to get cold Bagel !!!!! No service around pool for 4 days. Wooden Loungers, no pads broke your back (tell me 500 pads are enroute) Walked to Poolside bar in heat and asked for Cocktail Menu - told I had to go to the walk up Pool Bar for that. Walked over to that, round it, shoes off, into pool, ordered Cocktail for my wife and then asked for a Beer. They do not sell beer, I would have to go back to Pool side Bar???? Told it was too dangerous to serve it. So stand in water - NO BEER, Get out at the other side, take three big strides - SAFE ???????? Service in BUFFET for Coffee in morning, horrendous. Service in Reception apat from two - horrendous and dismissive. TOO MANY Trainees. This has all the makings and all the facilities for a 5 STAR. It currently runs at 3 STARS. If you come with Kids - GOOD you can use the Adult only restuarants and BAr. If you come as a couple be prepared to have a meal at 9.30pm surrounded by young children, small infants and then try to relax in the bar - no chance- all seats taken by kids. NOT ANTI-KIDS just paid a lot of money to relax and travel before the English schools broke up.

The villa was very clean, the cleaners came in everyday. With the family so we spent evenings in, but the television was not set up for ant English channels, not even news on children's television. The villa was vey contempary and not very child friendly, we had trouble with the sliding doors on to the balcony it was the room used by children 5 & 6 the door would not lock, after complaining 3 times they came and fixed it (had to get a bit serious about it needing fixing before the day was over). The pool was lovely but the decking was terrible, children both had splinters, and my daughter actually cut her foot, decking needed replacing, told them about this on the last day and they said they would report it. We still had a lovely time, it's a very nice area one other thing we were self catering but the nearest supermarket was through a gate, our fob did not work, we reported it to the security. Guard but nothing was done

A very relaxed week in the sun. Room was clean and spacious with a sea view. Staff were pleasent helpful and attentive. Food was good . A short walk to both ,a lovely sandy blue flag beach and supermarket.

We took a short break of 5 days with Jet 2 Holidays and were not disappointed. We have visited this area of the Algarve close to Salgados beach several times in the last 20 years but this was the first time we had visited this hotel. The food and accomodation were of high quality and we would thoroughly recommend it.
