Mount Ainos

Mount Ainos

The highest mountain on Kefalonia dominates the skyline in the south and west of the island. The area around it has been declared a national park, rich in wildlife, with dense fir forests. The easiest way to reach the summit is to drive to the transmitter station, then take a half-hour walk up the dirt track and steps. Although it’s not usually accessible July through to September.
