The Amathus ruins are the remains of the one of the oldest ancient cities of Cyprus, first occupied in 1100BC. Today you can see several tombs and an acropolis, with a first-century AD Roman temple to Aphrodite. There are also public baths and the remains of the eighth-century BC palace of Amathus.
