Plaza del Parterre

Plaza del Parterre

Down a set of stone steps is the fascinating Plaza del Parterre necropolis, or cemetery. It is thought to be an ancient Arab necropolis and the tombs face west towards Mecca. In a corner of the Plaza there’s a fired clay reproduction of one of the battle scenes of the Reconquista. The work is by Itziar Ortuzar.
