The Kizil Kule

The Kizil Kule

At the harbour the octagonal Kizil Kule (Red Tower) stands 30 metres high. The red brick tower was built in the 13th century to defend the seaport and dockyard. The ground floor is today used for exhibitions, there is a cistern in the middle for water storage and you can climb the stone steps all the way to the top.
