Sliema
The town of Sliema offers up classy bars and boutiques that wrap around the coastline and on to Marsamxett Harbour. It’s ideally located, with Paceville mere minutes away – where the nightlife steps up a notch. Go for long walks along the promenade or browse the designer outlets. You’ll find all of the island’s delights delivered to you from one welcoming resort.
The name‘Sliema’ stands for‘peace’ in Maltese, but over the years this town has outgrown its fishing village roots to become one of the island’s most popular resorts. It has developed something of an upmarket atmosphere, with the many amazing waterfront cocktail bars and exclusive shop.
Grand designs
Sliema has a strong British connection that harks back to the time when Malta was part of the Empire. Today, you can still see the fabulously ornate Victorian buildings in the centre of the town, with a smattering of traditional streets and Maltese architecture facing the seafront.
Explore the area
When you stay in Sliema, you can really make the most of the surrounding area, too. Just a quick ferry trip is all it takes to reach the capital, Valetta. This iconic city boasts the famous St John’s Co-Cathedral with a dazzling golden interior, as well as palaces, forts and theatres.
This restaurant is set on one of the seaside promenades within the Sliema Point Battery. Here you can enjoy delicious seafood overlooking the ocean. Cool smoothies are served alongside locally caught prawns,...
Although there's no sand at Sliema Beach, this stretch of sandstone, which runs the entire length of a three-kilometre promenade, is the centre of Sliema life in the summer. Soak up the sun on the shore or take...

false advertising
02 Jul 2019
booked a side sea view room, turned out that the only view we had looking towards the sea, was of the walkway between the hotel and the rooftop pool. complained to jet 2, and as we had sent pics of our view they agreed with us. so be interesting to see how they describe it in next years brochure.

Enjoyable Holiday
03 Apr 2019
Hotel rooms very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely modern furnishings with plenty of wardrobe space. Lovely bathroom but a bit on the small side. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, well cooked, lovely 'proper' bacon, 3 types of eggs, beans, sausage, fried bread, occasionally cooked fresh tomatoes, plenty cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cold cuts and a coffee machine which did the most gorgeous creamy coffee. The girls on reception were all really polite and helpful. Can't comment on the outside pool and terrace bar as it wasn't open being out of season when I visited. Could highly recommend the evening meal, 13 Euros with a free drink (the red wine was lovely !) for residents who have only booked B&B. Because the weather wasn't good decided to have evening meal in hotel and found it great value, as with breakfast, just couldn't fault it, loads of choices and always served piping hot, delicious salads, lovely pasta, usual desserts - gateaux, ice cream, fresh fruit, cheese & biscuits, jelly & fruit. All in all a really nice hotel. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the building work taking place directly across from my balcony, Jet2 had informed me about this, but as I'd paid extra for a side sea view I was not amused as my balcony really was a 'no go' area. I would have asked to change rooms but didn't spend to much time in it as I was busy sightseeing. Had I spent more time in my room I would definitely had requested a room change - my room number was 302.

Excellent holiday location

Excellent location, close to good restaurants. Easy to get all round the island from bus stops outside the hotel. We will definitely be booking again really soon and encouraging our families to book again too.

Regency Plaza I think is preferred hotel
07 Sep 2018
We stayed in Regency Plaza. The hotel room was small but clean with walk in shower. A dressing table with plugs both 3 pin and 2 pin. We took our own kettle and coffee as we knew we would have to hire one there. The safe was €17.50 and the air conditioning was efficient. Our room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily and we were not disturbed by the cleaner we never saw herDespite the smallness of the room there was ample storage space for our luggage. Just wish for more shelves in bathroom. The small television was adequate only watched news in morningWe were on the 6th floor and had a sea view which we had not upgraded for, just lucky I guess. The balcony was very small. Just squeezed 2chairs in and moved the table into room which was good for storing cases onBecause we were on 6th floor we were opposite the dining room which is in the Plaza but across a covered walkway. The breakfasts were the usual, fruit, yoghurts, chess, ham, bacon and egg. Evening meals were vsried and usually had a selection of fish, beef or chicken. I had monkfish and sea bass whilst there. Veg was a bit limited in choice though and usually a choice of 3 sweets. Other than the housewine which is sold but the glass or caraf which is like jewellery cleaner you have to purchase a bottle but they will save it for you for the next night or you can take it to the roof top bar with you or back to your room but there was no fridge in our roomThe pool is small but OK and clean with limited sun beds. Entertainment in roof bar most nightsOn night we went downstairs to the Plaza and needed the toilet but did not stop. It was filthy. The Plaza did not seem to be as good as Regency plaza

Horrendous hotel pretending to be a 3*
31 Jul 2018
Me and my partner booked this hotel based on its location and with the hope of a relaxing holiday. However, upon entering the room I went to lie down on the bed after a long flight and found the cleanliness of the room unsatisfactory. There were black hairs inside the bed which looked and smelled like it hadn't been cleaned. There were also hairs stuck to the floors along with a dirty plaster. The lighting in the room was very dull due to a lack of overhead lighting making it hard to even read a book. The room was very dated with lots of dirty marks on the walls, furniture and there were cracks and rust in the bath/shower. The AC switched off early one morning without warning.
Staff were unpleasant, rude and unhelpful including the manager. When I rang to ask if my room could be cleaned the receptionist informed me it had been cleaned and was not dirty. She said there were no cleaners available and I could not be moved room because the hotel was full. I asked could I speak to a manager who did send a cleaner after an hour and a half but he did not apologise at any point.
There was no free kettle facilities in the room (we were misled by this from the website) and staff provided a kettle that did not work which they were going to charge us for. We had to leave the AC on permanently to mask the loud noise from the entertainment every night and the general noise from the corridor.
The quality of the breakfast was very poor - the cheapest ingredients were used.
1 small lift for a hotel with 7 floors is insufficient especially with heavy suitcases.
After 30 years of travelling abroad and staying in a mixture of hotels with various star ratings, this is the first time I have ever had to complain about a hotel and it upset my holiday having to do this.

think twice
28 Apr 2018
this hotel is in two parts connected by an over-road bridge. We were allocated the part of the hotel with no facilities. This meant walking to the other part for meals & the bar (only open on entertainment nights - 3 during our stay). We had requested a sea-view room and paid extra but found trees obstructed the view. It was very noisy and the curtain lining had been cut so the room was quite light overnight. The food was very basic & not always hot. All things considered I would not return to this hotel, however, on the plus side, it was on a main bus route so it was easy to get
around.

sliema/st julians
06 Jul 2017
The Hotel is in the middle between sliema and st julians , the hotel public areas and the room that we stayed in were very clean and well maintained but a little small in particular the bathroom, the staff were very friendly in the main, the roof pool got a bit congested , the roof terrace and bar were good and had entertainment on each night from 8.30, we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfasts were ok! but not superb. the public bus service is a very good way to travel around and is very regular, the main road at the front of the hotel is very busy but there is a crossing 50yds from the entrance.

Very pleasant
13 Dec 2016
Well placed, well staffed, and all in all very comfortable. Especially pleasant staff. Pleasant sitting areas , quieter than the bar if you wanted to sit sipping a drink. The hotel was in a convenient area for local transport to other places around the island.
