The staff were very friendly, attentive and quick to respond to any requests. Hotel was lovely and the pool overlooking Vesuvius was amazing. Ideally located for Sorrento or Naples with a local train station just a short walk away.

The pool area was amazing and the food was fantastic. However, this was not a hotel for children, there was no kids club like it stated there would be, yes there was a kids pool which was lovely but there was no entertainment, no music playing during the day and nothing for the children to do. There was nothing to do outside of the hotel, there was one shop and a couple of restaurants but they were not easy to find. It was quite far out from Sorrento cost 60-80euro in a taxi one way. Wasn’t bad if you was getting the train which only cost 2 euro but the last train stops at 9.30. The rooms were small and every time I went to bed I woke up with new insect bites all over my body. There was one night I stayed away from this hotel and I was absolutely fine, the day I went back to the hotel I woke up with more insect bites. Again, I can’t fault the food or the pool area they were both lovely and if it wasn’t for the pool are I wouldn’t have stayed in that hotel for the duration of my holiday. As for the staff, some of them were really lovely and tried to do everything they could for you, especially the ladies down at breakfast and tea time service, however some were quite rude and didn’t understand anything people were saying to them.

An Excellent Family Holiday!
08 Aug 2022
We stayed at the Grand Moon Valley Hotel in July of 2022. We had an absolutely wonderful break in this lovely hotel. The pool area of our hotel was fantastic and surrounded by fabulous scenery. Our boys loved the pool. There were always enough loungers for us.
Evening meals were good and breakfast was superb. As a vegetarian I have to say I generally felt that I had enough choice and the waiting staff bent over backwards to accommodate me and my eldest and fussy child!! Salvatori and Marianna were a big hit with our family. They were friendly, kind and really focussed on helping us to enjoy our break. Salvatori had a great rapport with us and made my children feel special- he is a great guy. Marianna made sure that we all had everything we needed and she was kind, caring and always working hard to look after everyone.
We loved swapping our evening meal for our pizzas at lunchtime as they were utterly delicious!
The bedroom was clean and cool and we used the safe for the entirety of our stay. The cleaners tidied our rooms every day. The hotel did supply towels for pool use and the towels in the bathroom resembled table covers but we loved them- they were perfect in the heat.
During our stay, the toilet broke but the hotel staff responded quickly and got it working again.
I would highly recommend The Grand Moon Valley Hotel. We took their minibus trips into Sorrento twice. We also travelled by train and independently booked a trip to Mount Vesuvius which was absolutely brilliant!

Fab holiday
10 May 2022
Last min booking, never been here before, hotel was lovely, beautiful views, located 10 min walk downhill (quite a steep hill to walk back up, bus available to shuttle you there and back if you arrange in reception) from the train station which would take you to Sorrento, and all other tourist attractions, we were half board continental breakfast, evening meal was a choice of a couple of dishes which you chose at breakfast, food i have to say was delicious, not one poor meal, and if there was nothing you liked they would try and cook something you would. Staff were amazing so helpful, if I was going to criticise anything it was a shame that they stopped the free hotel bus into Sorrento in the evening our friends had been to this hotel before and the last pick up out of Sorrento was at 11 pm, shame this wasn’t available as we weren’t able to go into Sorrento after our evening meal as the last train was 9pm not enough time, did it one night and had to pay an eye watering 60 euros for a 10 min taxi ride. I have to mention the bar staff who I have to say were awesome. Also if this helps the ladies out there the hairdryer is type on the wall in the bathroom sufficient but not as powerful as a hand held one. Will def be going back to Sorrento and will def stay here again. Fab hotel, a little gem.

Very average hotel, let down by food choices
09 Sep 2019
We stayed at this hotel for 10 days at the start of August. It was out first time in Italy and we were very excited to experience Italy and to eat some of the delicious dishes it is known for. Sadly we were very disappointed with the food. Although initially we were impressed that although not always to our taste, there was always plenty of food at each mealtime. You have to choose your dinner at breakfast which perhaps is normal for hotels but sometimes it's hard to decide what you want to eat at night when you have just woken up! We always stay in Villas so this was out first experience of this. There are 3 options for starter, almost everyday it was a variation of spaghetti with tomato sauce or gnochi, a salad and risotto or soup. Main course you get 1 meat option, 1 fish and every single day they give you omelette as an option, something we felt could have been swapped around. During our 10 day stay we were amazed that not once was there Bruschetta, never carbonara, lasagne or pizza offered for main and the desserts were a real let down. No choice on what you had, everyone had the same and my family enjoy deserts but these were mass produced artificial dishes which none of us liked very much. One thing the hotel was good at was trying to accomodate you if you didn't like what was on the menu, however this was very limited, I would have been eating grilled chicken and chips the whole time if we had not gone out to eat on several occasions. We enjoyed the lunch menu more, but after a few days as that never changes it became quite unappealing. I feel the hotel could have done much more to make the meals more exciting, it did strike us as batch cooked, served up and handed out to everyone. Also, you have a table which you have to sit at everyday, this meant that some lucky people who got to sit at the side of the restaurant experienced fantastic sunsets each night where we were stuck in the middle of the restaurant didn't, i feel they should move tables so you all get the enjoyment of this.
One thing that really spoilt our holiday was the cost of drinks at the hotel. 4 euros for half a pint of lager and 3 euros for a small coke and 12 euros for a whiskey and coke is very steep! I would have thought that with your evening meal you would get at least house wine or 1 beer included but no. So many people felt the same as you saw people coming back from the shop down the road with drinks and snacks.
Noisy evening events were a nuisance too!

Wonderful family holiday

Great hotel in a lovely location. The train station is just around the corner from the hotel so you can reach other towns easily. Wonderful staff. Lovely pools. Extremely clean rooms. Cannot fault it.
Frank, The 4 Luigis and Mariana made our stay perfect. Thank you all

Repetitive and boring!!!
13 Jun 2019
The hotel itself is situated in seiano which luckily has a train station (godsend) and 1/2 restaurants and the same in bars/cafes. There is nothing around this hotel worth a visit other than ma che Bonta a restaurant opposite which unfortunately for us we only found ourselves in on the last night!
The hotel its self is clean, rooms are tiny but beds made and cleaned every day which was the highlight of the holiday to come into a freshly made bed... and that’s where it stops! The food was repetitive within the 7 days the lunch menu never changed so having to choose from 3 starters and 3 mains with chips or salad for 7 days was anything but refreshing! Breakfast was eggs eggs and eggs served 2 ways porridge like scrambled or 4 hour boiled. Hot dogs for sausage and bacon jerky is all I could describe the Lardon sliced tough meat! I managed to get through the week with yogurt and granola! My fiancé didn’t make breakfast most days as he wasn’t a fan (as your aware haha) one day so asked to order something from the snack menu to be told not until 1pm when lunch begins, we had stated we would pay for this but still no! Been out of the way meant we had to travel into sorrento to get something to resemble breakfast which by the time we arrived there it was lunch anyway! The drinks were ridiculously expensive and the staff said no more than chow and chow throughout our stay!
We would definitely not be returning to this hotel and didn’t even leave the tiniest impression on us at all which I have never said upon returning from what should have been a romantic and amazing first couples holiday in a magical place.

Fabulous scenery
09 Jun 2019
The hotel is lovely and set in a beautiful scenic location. The pool and it's setting is first class. The views of the mountains are fabulous when you are swimming. However the water is icy cold. There is nothing to do in the area. You have to travel either by train or bus. The hotel provides a courtesy bus to Sorrento on a daily basis. This can be booked by putting your name on the list at reception. The staff are all lovely and very friendly especially Franco, Elsa and Angela. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems or for young children as the footpath is very narrow, steep and the traffic extremely busy. An information booklet provided in each bedroom would be helpful to guests. We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary and would have no hesitation in returning.

cheaper way to do expensive area
29 May 2019
Although this is a perfectly acceptable hotel it’s a little remote with nothing around it, such as shops, beach etc. Easy walk to train station though.
Food a bit bland and really not what you’d want from Italy!

sightseeing trip
24 May 2019
All staff are fantastic. pool area lovely. Near to train station which takes you to all the major sights for less than 3 euros. Entertainment --- a woman singing popular songs. Very isolated. Not a place for children as there is only a small park in the grounds. Road is the biggest drawback. It circles the hotel & is very busy.
