Hotel O Sole Mio

The friendliness of all the O' Sole Mio staff, reception, bar, restaurant, domestics all complimented the establishments ambience and perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Our room was to the rear of the hotel with superb views over La Deserto and cleaned daily to a very high standard. Clean fresh air up here and a little cooler than Sorrento. The restaurant provided lovely breakfasts and tasty dinners with excellent table service. Pool area was quiet and relaxing with lovely lunches available from the nearby pool bar. Reception happy to help with any trips and local information. The shuttle bus in the summer months allows you to enjoy the hustle bustle of Sorrento and escape back to the hills for a chill at night. The 10 minute walk to the village of Sant' Agata Sui Due Golfi well worth it to enjoy local village vibes with super local food, refreshments and of course gelato and cannoli. The hotel, staff and location are a hidden gem in this area and and an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in the real south of Italy experience. Compliments to all the staff we will return for sure.

This hotel has recently undergone a complete refurb and the rooms are light and airy. Our room had a balcony and looked across the valley. We went half board and the restaurant has table service with 3 choices of starter main and dessert. we enjoyed every meal.If there was one complaint it was that there are no drawers in the room and so had to leave clothes in the case. From the hotel, it is about a ten minute walk into the village of Santa Agata where there are a few bars and also a restaurant. The hotel has a bar but is quiet in the evening although we did have entertainment one evening. The walk to Sorrento took us about 45 mins but you need to wear at least a pair of trainers as the walk is quite steep in places. As a base it is well located with many walks starting from Santa Agata. Also you can get a bus to sorrento or Amalfi and from sorrento you can get the train to Pompei, Herculaneum, Vesuvius or Naples .A day ticket costs about 10 euros on a bus or 1.30 for a single journey. A lot less than the tour buses. The pool area is set in the garden and is so relaxing. There were no problems getting a sun bed. All in all, staying at this hotel was a very good experience.

This hotle is up a gentle slope from San Agata but in a lovely peaceful location. The garden and pool area are very well maintained and even in July we often had the pool to ourselves. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and the evening menus were varied and excellent.

Very nice Hotel and extremely friendly staff. The ladies on reception are most helpful and the staff in the restaurant were fantastic. The food was great and we enjoyed every evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble and the waiter was exceptional. Great location for touring around this area.

Great hotel, big enough to have all the facilities needed, but small enough to be somewhere to relax in peace and quiet. Rooms are very comfortable with usual en-suite facilities, balcony, fridge/mini bar, TV and safe. The rooms are all air-conditioned with controls in theh room. We had a room facing the Bay of Naples, daughter had a room on opposite side facing the town and Amalfi coast. All the staff were friendly and attentive, service in the restaurant was excellent, breakfast buffet with good choices (only negative was the coffee was from a machine and wasn't that good, compared to coffee available in the bar) and evening meals were always good with different choices every night. This comprised of 3 choices each for starter and main course, always with fresh ingredients, and 3 or 4 dessert choices. Bread and salad were also served with the meal. All the food was authentic Italian. Only tip I would give is to try and keep a rough idea of how much you are spending on drinks throughout your stay as all drinks are added to your room bill. We tried but ended up spending a bit more than we expected, however, everything was itemised on the bill and was correct. Regarding the location, this part of Italy is very hilly and Sant'Agata is at the the top of the hills above Sorrento and Hotel O'Sole Mio is at the highest point of the town, so would probably not be ideal if you have mobility problems. There is a footpath to Sorrento, however, as we stayed in August, it was too hot and humid to attempt the walk, especially the return uphill, so we always used the local bus which was a reasonable €1.30 each way.
