Peschiera
Shops, cafés and trattorias aplenty can be found within Peschiera’s medieval walls, so leave no historic stone unturned. Big on sardines and local wine, you’ll have tipples and tastes to tickle your palate as you eat your way through the resort. The religious buildings just finish off Peschiera’s backstory. What's more, a train station makes it easy to visit cities like Milan, Venice and Verona!

Humble history
People flock here to go camping, but Peschiera is so much more than a place to pitch up your tent! An old military fortress exists – with rumours of a former jail – and the countryside’s completely in bloom, if walking’s more your thing. Think ports, forts, museums, and a big scoop of rich panoramas!
On your bike!
Are you a keen cyclist? Love exploring a new area on two wheels? A 40km cycle path starts from Peschiera and takes you along the Mincio River. What's more, you can bring your own bike thanks to our 32kg bike carriage allowance!
It’s a shore thing
Lounge around for a while on welcoming shores, or cycle among nature in this postcard-pretty retreat. The thing about Peschiera is it’s in no short supply of plentiful scenery, so make the most of it. The food’s another thing to savour – Lugana wine’s the grape-made tipple of choice, and often paired with looping spaghetti.

Firstly, our 4 and 7 year old LOVED the pools and the mini disco. I loved the location, right on the lake with stunning scenery and my husband liked it all. We didn't realise quite how massive the site was with a lovely mix of nationalities and accomodation types. The kids counted nine different swimmng pools and a splash zone with various play parks and areas dotted around for all ages.
The evening entertainment was perfect for our girls with a multilingual mini disco run by an enthusiastic, friendly team.
There are a few restaurants on site but some refused to serve us as our youngest has a severe dairy allergy - the fish and chip place even refused her a slushy as they said they used the ice cream scoops in the mixture?! The Terrace restaurant, however, were fantastic, making a fuss over her and getting her food she enjoyed. Our food there was great too - try the lasagne!
Our accomodation (2 bed bungalow) was clean with towels, bed linen, loo roll and washing up stuff provided but the sound proofing between bungalows could be better. Nice shaded outdoor area with table, chairs and loungers.
Small, expensive supermarket on site that could be incredibly busy. It stocked non dairy milks, violife cheese and alpro yoghurt. We saw lots of people lugging bottled water but the tap water was fine to drink. They also have an in-store bakery but even their baguettes had dairy content.
We took the girls' scooters and loads of the kds (and adults) had bikes and scooters with them as the site is so big. The check-in process was painful. I queued for at least half an hour in the heat while my husband and children tried to find some shade with all the other families. Families who had probably been there before, used the time in the queue to get their kids ready for the pool. The 100E security deposit has to be paid in cash but the local tax can be paid by card.
The only other negative was the sun lounger situation. The pools opened at 9am but people were queuing long before this. If you choose to do this you'll need to be fast with sharp elbows once those gates open! All the beds and umbrellas were gone by 9.05 with many being 'bagged' by people who don't re-appear until much later on. Some guests will remove towels if no one appears but the pool staff don't do anything about the unoccupied beds or people drinking from glass bottles or eating while in the pool.
Overall the place was clean, tidy and well maintained .
