Gouves
Gouves is a resort of two halves – modern Kato Gouves is pure beach fun, and the mountain village of Pano Gouves specialises in sensational views. If you fancy swimming, you’ll find the calmest waters by the sands west of the marina, while Skotino Cave will bring out your adventurous side.
Take a saunter along the town’s paved walkway, which runs for about 3km along the coast and is dotted with pretty street lamps. You can admire the boats bobbing in the marina and stop off at a beach taverna for a Greek coffee or a glass of Cretan wine.
Old village
Set in the side of Mount Ederi is Pano Gouves, a top pick for voyages of discovery. This traditional village has twisty streets, whitewashed houses, tavernas and a trio of pretty churches to explore. It’s a burnt-orange haven of natural sights – all basically untouched by tourists – so go and have a wander.
Family fun
Get up close to seahorses, jellyfish, sharks and other cool creatures of the Mediterranean at Cretaquarium in neighbouring Gournes, just a five-minute drive away. Curved glass tanks expose some of the most fascinating fish and underwater life, so bring the kids and prepare to make some unexpected friends.
Located in the rocky foothills of Mount Ederi, Gouves Beach offers sheltered bays and golden sands. It has parasols and sunbeds for lounging and exciting water sports to keep everyone entertained. There’s a...
Treat your tastebuds to delicious Greek food and hospitality; oven-baked lamb kleftiko, juicy kebabs and fresh fish are all on the menu. Greek tavernas and restaurants are dotted along the beach and tucked away...
For a Jurassic Park experience without the extreme terror, head to Dinosauria. Kids of all ages will love the realistic sound effects, motion sensors and more than 50 life-size dinosaurs. It's educational too...
Clean, tidy & well looked after hotel.
Plenty of food & drink choices, always sunbeds available, lovely pools. Friendly staff. Rooms cleaned daily. Plenty to do for all ages. The slides are great fun.

Fantastic family holiday
07 Sep 2022
A really lovely hotel with great facilities for the whole family.
The water slides and pools were a big hit with my children aged 5 and 9.
Great selection of food throughout the day, no one went hungry.
Our room was lovely, clean and quiet. The only downside for us is that we felt there could have been more storage as a family room but other than that we couldn’t fault it.
The location is excellent with being close to the beach, shops, bars, everything you need is within walking distance.
We would definitely return as we all had such an enjoyable holiday and loved every minute!.

Needs some TLC
13 Jul 2022
Can’t fault the staff running the restaurants and bars and cleaners all doing a great job, the hotel entertainment was poor though and you would need to head to Corralejo if you wanted any , the sunbeds around the pool were the biggest let down and in poor condition and the usual situation of getting up very early to try and book a bed with a towel which by the way should not happen, why can’t a particular room not be allocated beds to your room numbers? Would be a simple fix , again we had to go the aqua park very other day just to avoid the hassle, I would definitely use the hotel again if it refurbished it’s tired impression

OK of you don't want to eat

The gouves Waterpark has everything going for it except food. The restaurant churns out the same old slop day after day and brings back horrors of 80s school dinners. Both my daughter and I picked up a noravirus from somewhere and ended up in the med centre on a drip.
I'd love to point out all the positives but I just can't get past the food. It was our first all inclusive, never again

Lovely location - could do better
16 May 2022
As many others have said this hotel has so much potential.
Aside from a lack of sunbeds and dated rooms we had a lovely holiday. Our biggest issue was the food. We tried to be optimistic but the food was always cold and the choice at dinner time was very limited. The snack bar food at lunchtime was excellent as it was cooked to order and the staff behind the bar at the snack bar were so friendly but so obviously undervalued and over worked.
The other staff were rude and unapproachable. Our room was only cleaned twice and the sheets changed the day after we arrived - pretty pointless! We were kept awake every night by the very loud karaoke and bingo despite being quite some distance from the bar area.
We had a lovely holiday and the location is excellent. It wouldn't take much to really improve this hotel - it has so much potential. Unfortunately we won't be returning to find out!

Gouves Park Holiday resort

We arrived at the hotel late at night before 12. Reception will ask you for a hotel voucher. None of us knew we were to produce this on arrival and took us a long time locating it. Pretty annoying late at night . Its attached to your very first reservation email you get booking your holiday so be warned. Then pay your taxes.
We had a family room which was nice and clean. A double room for us with another room off the side with 2 sofas where my daughter could sleep. 2 star. Blankets were in the cupboard but no sheets to make up a bed. Had to get next day at reception. Bathroom although nice was a combined wet room shower with loo next to it. It was very dangerous as no matter what you do after showering the floor is very slippy and dangerous. We all fell at some stage in the holiday. So we used towels which seemed to be in abundance at the beginning of the holiday to dry the floor. Half way through the holiday we noticed our towels never got replenished so we asked for more at reception. Be warned folks £2.50 a towel as they only give you free towels every 3 days!! I think that was shocking as we spent a fortune on all inclusive. Our fridge in the room wasnt working properly and was leaking but we never used it much anyway. We had a wedding the next day to attend and asked at front desk for an iron for my husbands shirt. None. All were out they said! Had to use my hair straighteners to get worst creases out! Very inventive of me.
Breakfast: Buffet type. Very good selection for all, loved the sliced fried patotoes, onion rings and fried eggs were a fav of mine. However, over there fried eggs look undercooked with the white still clear so I would ask egg lady to flip my eggs over. She was very rude a few times by either leaving them way to long or giving you broken ones. Then telling you they are all the same! I like mine a bit runny just not raw looking. She did that with quite a few customers if was asked to flop eggs over. Other than her their was lots to get, something for all. Most popular was prob pancakes freshly made with choices of fruit and chocolate spread. All sausages were Frankfurters type. All dry cereals, yogurts and a bread area. Lots of puddings too to pick from and cakes!
Dinners were the same at main dining area. Themes night lots to pick. All good. The pool areas were lovely and not too busy very well kept. Their was a kiosk at the children's pool was great for pizza & kebabs amazing! Entertainment was great to.

Overall a nice place, but sorry, this is not 4 star, arrived on 21st Oct and found 2 of the 3 evening restaurants shut even though the season didn't finish until end of Oct, and as for the evening dining dress code, it didn't exist, prople were dining in flip-flops swim shorts and vests, the accomodation is clean and well seviced, but no pool towels provided so bring your own, this is 3 star at the most

Lovely hotel
27 Oct 2018
Great hotel. Our room was fairly basic but clean and had all the necessities. The beds reasonably comfy but the walls are very thin. Our daughter was awoken a few times due to other guests noise. The resort is huge. A map would be a good idea upon arrival, the pools are located in different areas and there are several bars. Main restaurant is fabulous. A great choice and lots of salads available. Our daughter enjoyed the desserts too. Pizza, gyros and pancakes available for most of the day too and very tasty!! The drinks are fine. Most are help yourself apart from the spirits. The entertainment team are amazing. Couldnt fault them and they go above and beyond. Even in October at the end of the season they had a great programme. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk to the beach or you can take the free tuk tuk down. My only issue with the hotel was genuinely the other guests. The night before we left alot of very loud noisey and rude British turned up. I am British but I was genuinely embarrassed by them. Drunk by lunchtime, loud and swearing, pushing each other into the pool. Shouting from one balcony to another. Several of them had children. This is a family hotel and I just felt it wasn't the place for that type of behaviour. Also not fair on the other guest nor the staff who had to clean up after them.Bus stop is a fifteen minute walk. Fairly regular and easy to use. All in a all though a really lovely holiday.

some bad, some good
09 Oct 2018
Me, my wife and 21 month old daughter had a nice quiet week away in mid September. We booked because of the short transfer from the airport and the access to lots of pools and close proximity of the beach, and all inclusive meant we didnt have to worry too much about where the next meal was coming from for our daughter. Before I go any further the absolute biggest negative that would stop me coming back was our flight home was at 10:30pm, check out was at 12, with a daughter who naps around 12:30/1 we had to request late check out, but were charged 70 euros for the privilege. That is a complete rip off. Why cant the holiday package industry work out a charge based on the flight times of your package. Ironically we will have paid for a full days all inclusive at the hotel but didnt arrive until 11pm. Its a massive frustration for me, you should get what you pay for! Especially as we stayed in a premium hotel in Cyprus earlier in the year and didnt get charged anything for late check out.Anyway, the little one loved the pools, hours of fun, the beach was lovely and she loved going down there, didnt begrudge paying 5 euros for the sun loungers at all.The food, we weren't expecting top quality 5 star food, but i struggle to see how anyone can moan too much about it. there was plenty of choice and as well as some staple things there were different things on offer each night. Plus the snack places doing the kebabs and the pizza were spot on for a snack. The beer and wine was cheap but it was drinkable and so what if there is only one cocktail type each day on all inclusive. It more than met our expectations. Can't comment too much on the entertainment apart from our daughter loved the mini-disco each night, and when that ended she was well and truly knackered out and ready for bed leaving mum and dad to enjoy a cocktail in the room.Would consider going again, but not if there was a chance of needing late check out, i cant bring myself to pay that amount.
