Blue Bay Resort Hotel

Honestly this hotel isn’t what you pay for. We paid nearly 2k for this holiday and the 4* rating definitely doesn’t stand for itself. I went with my partner and the food is nothing special. Cocktails are €8 each and the only drinks available on all inclusive are Riki and ouzo which are not nice. The beds were so uncomfortable and it just all round was unhappy experience

Went with Jet2 who are excellent and we had a great holiday at the Blue Bay Holiday Resort which was fantastic. The staff were the best we have come across in all our years of travelling. Room, food facilities really excellent and entertainment each evening was good. Location is a bit remote and recommend a car. Only real issue we had was the All Inclusive package which was very poor. Only offered poor wine, small glasses of beer and dreadful Raki and Ouzo cocktails. Everything else was chargeable. Otherwise it was great.

Not a bad hotel but not a great one either staff are very friendly food is good but rooms aren’t as good as the photos on the website which are miss leading . Entertainment doesn’t start til 9.30 p.m which is to late for young families the walk to the beach is down a very steep hill but worth the walk .

Great hotel friendly staff lovely room with high standard of cleaning restaurant food has a great selection changed daily but remember it is all inclusive food and it’s a buffet service. Lobi bar great with outside views.Pool bar lively and great barmen George and Dimitri always smiling and great service. 3 pools to choose from and plenty of sun beds we were there middle to end of May limited entertainment as it was start of the season with nightly shows.The all inclusive drinks limited in selection but we knew this when we booked and had plenty of wine ouzo raki and beer.Bus stop outside hotel to go to Heraklion which we went twice.Bought our excursions from the Russian lady Janna who has an excursion shop a few mins walk from hotel as you go down to the beach.All in all a great hotel lovely staff nothing too much for them and for the price we paid with Jet 2 it was a fantastic holiday.

Decent hotel very friendly and helpful staff food average room was OK with a sea view but the balcony was small entertainment most nights was OK the hotel was OK if you wanted a quiet holiday the nearest village was about a twenty minute walk but it was worth going to

We were on a "all inclusive package" through Jet 2 and visiting Crete for the first time. Arriving late at night we were received by cheerful, helpful hotel staff, booked in and shown to our room within 10 minutes. Just time to nip back to the bar for a quick ouzo. The room was excellent. Large with a king size bed, wet room and large balcony looking out over the main pool area and a wonderful sea view. The food was varied with Greek dishes aplenty, but chips and grilled food available for the less adventurous. Excellent quality and no restrictions on quantity. Wine and beer on tap as well in the restaurant. Local drinks, ouzo, raki, beer and wine, as well as soft drinks, were in the deal and available from 10 in the morning until 11pm if you wanted. We quite openly took drinks back to our room late at night for a perfect end to the day, sitting on the balcony, and reflecting on a lovely day. The hotel overall was absolutely excellent and the staff were so cheerful and helpful.A free hotel taxi was available to take you down to the local beach and bar/restaurants and local buses were regularly scheduled for the more adventurous to explore the island. We had an excellent holiday with absolutely no complaints. We have re booked at Blue Bay for next May already, for a longer period, which says it all. Highly recommended.

Accommodation was very good, we were in the annexe and it was a quieter spot. We had our own pool and bar/snack bar. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent a good choice and varied. Drinks selection was very disappointing, having been on many all inclusive holidays this one was not good for drinks. Only beer, wine and raki or ouzo cocktails were included. Any spirits or upgraded cocktails were €5 each. It was cheaper to go to local bars and a nice change. Otherwise a very good holiday.

Very impressed with reception, modern and clean. When we arrived at hotel we were told we had been upgraded from the annex to a family room in main hotel. I think upgrade was a bit of a joke. We were in the basement of the hotel with a service road running outside our window. After having a shower we paddled out the bathroom, the shower head sprayed everywhere. We went back to reception and asked to be moved but unfortunately, apparently, the hotel was fully booked. Two couples arrived in the room next to us on a late flight, we were kept awake until 3 in the morning with banging and slamming of doors and loud laughter. The next morning I went to reception and explained what had happened, the staff were fantastic and we were given our original booking, a room in the annex. Oh what joy. A modern room with a walk in shower. Lovely view and no vans or trucks driving passed the balcony. The food was cold and rather repetitive, putting it mildly. The all inclusive drinks package was a joke. No spirits. Not everyone is a fan of raki and ouzo. All in all we had a "nice" holiday. Restaurants were great down by the beach and the food was hot. No mushroom pie here!!!! The staff were great. I feel sorry for the people on reception because apparently people wanting to change rooms is a daily occurrence. I would not go back to Blue Bay Resort again, Crete I will try again but a different hotel and resort.I must point out that it is very hilly here and also the hotel has only one lift which take you to the restaurant and to the pool, although to say that it goes to the pool is incorrect you still have steps to go down to get to the pool.

We never stayed in the hotel for they put us up a large hill in another part I struggle with walking and found this very hard for all meals and other things were down in hotel so you have to walk up and down hills to get there it's very poor

Staff are great. Hotel spotless. Food faultless . location perfect for relaxed base. Short walk to village. Weather was lovely. Would return to hotel anytime. The staff really make this hotel what it is, right down to the maid's. Everyone works so hard.

Everything was as advertised. Staff were fantastic, food was superb. Weather incredible. If you read the description of the resort on your travel agents site or the hotels website then you willHave nothing to moan about. Yes the all inclusive drinks are limited but it’s all made very clear so no surprises. Perhaps adding vodka and gin would increase the free options. Thank you Blue Bay Resort
