Leonardo Cypria Bay & Aphrodite Waterpark

The hotel building and infrastructure are really good, however from the moment of arrival it was clear to see the service and standards were awful. Really poor reception for new guests arriving late in the day where we were given a glass of Prosecco and immediately told by the staff member “that’s the last time you will get that as it’s only complimentary on arrival” The same person took us to the room and pointed out they had put some food in our fridge as we’d missed dinner due to our flight arrival time. He also stated there were two bottles of water - but it would be the last time we got that and we would have to keep filling the bottles at the bar if we wanted water. The sandwiches in the fridge looked like they’d been left out all day - I could have used them as frisbees if it wasn’t for the curled up edges of the crusts and cheese slices within. The hotel food was poor and very limited choice - I’m quite happy to try anything but spent most of the holiday eating chips and what used to be pizza. The staff didn’t have uniforms in the restaurant - some had jeans, others had trousers - some wore shoes, some had trainers on - they all wore aprons but one member of staff was walking around with what looked like bleach stains all across the front. On one occasion the staff had a full blown argument between themselves right in front of us. One morning there was a problem with a door hinge to the kitchen - maintenance turned up and used an angle grinder to cut the hinge off whilst people were eating breakfast - sparks everywhere and the noise as you can imagine. On one evening in the restaurant we were sat eating when we noticed two men cleaning the pizza oven out with scrapers near to us - they were joined by a third person who had a mop in his hand. He put the mop head on the floor and leaned on the handle whilst talking - he then picked the same mop up and used it to wipe the inside of the pizza over!!!! The indoor upstairs lounge area had one bar with two staff working some of the time. Most of the time there was one barman and the queues were (at time) s more than ten people deep waiting to be served. The outdoor bar staff and evening outdoor garden entertainment were superb / first rate and the only four star section of the hotel experience. What we received was not a four star hotel or experience. Three star at best - Clearly being run on the cheap.

It was mine & my cousins first holiday together and I chose this hotel as it looked really good & had good reviews. AND i must say the reviews were right & so were the pictures. The hotel was so nice - the cleanest ever, there was people constantly cleaning it which is so reassuring with the whole covid business, me & my cousin were in love with the scent machine they had located all around - made the hotel smell incredible. The staff were so delightful to speak to always smiling and just being nice. We made a mistake but yet they were so helpful to sort it out & not blame us. One of the receptionist lady was so kind enough to already book our safari trip and get it sorted for us without us even having to tell her, she was so kind aswell to give us a whole itinerary on what safari we can go on etc. From what we witnessed it was a great hotel for families too as they have constant entertainment for children which even at 25 years old me & my cousin enjoyed! I would defo be back either for my future family holidays or for a quick get away. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for everything they do - They all work SO hard! :)
