Mlini
This quaint little village is nestled in the corner of a scalloped bay, with a lovely promenaded and a pebbled beach. It's really close to its neighbouring resorts and cities too. Neatly positioned between Dubrovnik (just a 20-minute drive away) and the pretty town of Cavtat, Mlini ticks all the boxes for a traditional Croatian retreat.

History-stuffed Dubrovnik – with its magnificent marbled alleyways and olde worlde charm – is just a stone’s throw from Mlini, so be sure to carve out some days for exploring. From here, you can even ‘hop’ on a boat trip to Lokrum Island, where you might spy wild rabbits and roaming peacocks! It’s magical and then some.
A quaint Dalmatian village
Mlini is a handful of sun-bleached stone buildings cradled between a steep mountain and the Adriatic Sea. It’s a sleepy, traditional kind of place, with a few restaurants crowded around the palm-lined harbour. In the woods outside the village, you’ll wander past natural springs, once used to power the mills.
Pebbly beaches on tap
Mlini’s great for beaches – the waterfront is studded with pretty, pebbly coves. If you feel like a change of scene, you can zoom over to Cavtat on the ferry in ten minutes, or head out to the Elaphiti Islands. They lay claim to some of the best sand in the region.
Dine on tasty fresh seafood in the traditional stone-built restaurants called konobas that line Mlini's seaside promenade, like the popular Konuba Lanterna. The cafés and restaurants here stay open till late...
Escape the crowds and relax on the peaceful, shallow pebble beaches and hidden coves of idyllic Milni. The serene clear blue seas are ideal for swimming and snorkelling and you're just a short stroll from...
Picture-perfect Milni was named after the water mills that were once abundant along the banks of the village's beautiful Zavrelje River. Although no longer in use, some are the mills are still standing today...
We travelled to Villas Mlini in August this year with my 9 year old son. Hotel Asterea which is the hotel you use to check in to etc is a little dated but clean although the pool area looks quite new and is more than adequate especially as it is right on the beach. The Villas themselves are nicely located on a slope so maybe not suitable for anyone who has access issues as there are lots of steps. Good size rooms and a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. I would say the villas would not be suitable for 2 couples as the second bed is in the lounge so not much privacy - however it was fine for my son. If you are seriously going to self cater I would think again as there are only 2 rings and a microwave for cooking plus a fridge and a kitchen sink - fine if its just breakfast you are eating. Also consider than whilst the brochure and the staff say the nearest supermarket is 15-20 mins away - it is actually a good 25 - 30 mins away and when carrying shopping its quite a trek. The beach is stony but very safe and the water is lovely and clear sunbeds on the beach are payable. Sunbeds by the pool can be hard to come by but pool staff were very helpful in obtaining sunbeds etc. Mlini resort is small with restaurants and bars but is not particularly busy even in August. Lovely for an evening stroll. There are regular taxis/buses and water taxis to Dubrovnik & Cavtat both worth while visiting but I would choose the water taxi option as it takes less time and is a more pleasant journey. Hotel staff were ok but not very helpful when my credit card went 'missing' at reception on the last day when we went to settle my bill. Evidently CCTV wasn't working. Overall however I would recommend Mlini as a resort for families.

Good hotel

Lovely apartment. Could hear the waves we were that close. Breakfast good. Plenty of choice. Went mid October and the resort was like ghost town and weather not the best. Hotel part the complex consisted of Saga group. So quite a lot of more mature people

Anniversary holiday
04 Jun 2019
We were impressed with our Jet2 flight from Birmingham and everything went smoothly. We loved the situation of our villa, no 597, which overlooks the sea and Mlini. We were very happy with the bathroom and bedroom, the bed was very comfortable, but not impressed with the kitchen which was too small, no toaster and could have done with a step ladder to reach the overhead cupboards. The pool area was great and Mlini itself very pretty with a good boat service to Dubrovnik and Cavtat as well as a regular bus service nearby. The one drawback was the mile long walk to the nearest shop for provisions, not so bad there but not pleasant on the way back when having to carry shopping, but the views were amazing. Overall I would recommend Villas Mlini and would like to visit the area again in the future.

Lovely apartments in excellent location
13 Sep 2017
We've had a lovely family holiday at Mlini Villas. The apartments were located right on the beach with easy access to the facilities of the Astarea hotel. Mlini village was also lovely with lots of restaurants though it was very quiet so perhaps not suitable for those looking for lots of entertainment.
