Bahia Principe Sunlight San Felipe

On arriving at the hotel we had great expectations as the reception lobby was very nice, as were the reception staff & we were greeted with a welcome fruit drink. There was a view out on to lovely, well maintained gardens and the bar area looked welcoming. However, on arriving at our room on the 8th floor we were very disappointed by how dated and tired it looked. The bathroom was very poor with the narrowest bath with a very antiquated shower above it. There was no extractor fan, just vents, and the bathroom quickly steamed up when showering. We are of average build & we found there was no way to sit comfortably in the bath. When using the toilet we could hear the guests actually using the toilet in the next room. The walls were very thin in the bedroom & we could hear the guests in the next room talking & their child constantly crying. I must say though that the bed was amazingly large & very comfortable. The food in the hotel was bland & monotonous and catered mainly for German taste as did most of the hotel. Cauliflower cooked in vinegar & water etc. The waiting staff were lovely but 1 particular woman in the food preparation area was exceptionally rude to me one evening when I asked for some chicken as it had run out & she started speaking to her colleague about me in what I could tell was an uncomplimentary way & the poor man looked totally embarrassed. She then threw a piece of chicken on my plate which I found was uncooked in the middle when I started to eat it.The evening entertainment was appalling & once again catered for German guests so much so that we ventured out into the town every night to listen to better entertainment along the front. We were very disappointed as we were expecting a 4* hotel & actually got a hotel that was barely 3* compared to other hotels we have visited. We were told that the rooms were gradually being upgraded & that can't come soon enough. An upgrade on the menu is also greatly needed as the food is 2* at the moment.

I have stayed at this hotel for the past 8 years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is good and varied. All staff are friendly and helpful and do their utmost to ensure that your holiday is the best experience. The location of the hotel is great too ! I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Having had six holidays at this hotel in the last four years we were devastated to find that on our last visit in July 2017 there had been a decline in the standards and nature of the hotel since our visit in April 2017. A new assistant manager and an extremely noisy entertainment manager had reduced standards of cleanliness and the entertainment manager endlessly bombarded the hotel with his voice and microphone for much of the day and evening. many complained but nothing was done and regular guests expressed reluctance to return. WE SPENT OUR SECOND WEEK SEARCHING FOR A REPLACEMENT HOTEL AND HAVE NOW BOOKED A DIFFERENT HOTEL FOR April 2018. The air conditioning was turned off every night with nighttime temps between 27 to 29 degrees in our room, no amount of complaint changed the situation.

We had a great 4 day break between Xmas and New Year. The weather was excellent and the hotel was very good. The pool area is great and the food and drink very nice. We had a room in the annexe just of the main building, quiet and quite large with s good balcony. Great pool view but couldn't see Mt Teide or the sea. All in all a lovely holiday to celebrate my 50th, not cheap this time of year though.

Hotel very nice, but no tea/coffee facilities and no room service. If you would like English TV there is only News channels. Apart from those few things the hotel is good. Pools are lovely, you have to lay a deposit for your towels which you get back when you hand them back.

I will start with the positives. Really liked the resort. Hotel is in a good position on the sea front, pool good. Enjoyed the selection of food and the waiters were very good. We were all inclusive but unfortunately most of the drinks included were undrinkable. We were given room 1707 which had no outside space and small compaired to other rooms. Also the lift didn't go as far as this room, the room was located through fire doors and up stairs (felt like we were in the servants quarters). Toileteries were not always replaced. We felt the hotel catered more for their German clientele. We will go back to the resort but not to this hotel. Not a 4* hotel.

Travelled with a friend who had stayed at the hotel on several occasions who was hoping it lived up to their expectations - it did! Exceptionally clean - the most important, throughout the hotel, grounds swimming pool and spa areas. Genuinely friendly and efficient staff, particular thanks to Vanessa and Sebastian. Excellent food, good variety so really to complain would be mean. 1st time all inclusive, very impressed. Puerto de la Cruz was a delight, you will not be disappointed, and would not hesitate in recommending the hotel.

Just come back from another fantastic holiday staying at Bahia Principe San Felipe Hotel, Tenerife. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It was our second time of going and we were made very welcome for returning. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was good with an excellent choice. We stayed half board as we liked to go out sightseeing most of the day. There is entertainment day and night if you want to stay around the hotel or there are a few bars along the seafront with entertainment as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back again soon.

An excellent Hotel and it is my fourth stay -the first with Jet 2. I've been to Porto for eleven years. I rate it the best I have stayed in. The food was excellent and a wide variety. This coupled with a very friendly staff means I'll return
