Altair Apartments

The room was big enough for 3 people and the balcony was bigger than expected too, very clean inside and out. Great pool and facilities. The staff was really helpful and the food around the poolside was nice and cheap. Would stay again!

well thought we would escape xmas so got a cheap holiday for a week self catering hotel ,lt was very clean.are the s taff really nice as for the sister hotel well it was a nightmare to be honest the karaoke till gone 2am and disco wouldn't of been too bad if it wasn't around the outside pool so that's all we could hear till gone 2am also if you don't like climbing 180 steps to get to the hotel then I suggest not to book that hotel

Stayed at the Altair in June we found the hotel staff very friendly and polite. The hotel itself was clean, fresh spacious and well catered for. We did not encounter any issus during our stay. The only downside for us was that the Altair was too close to the resort centre which was fine during the day but at night we found it too noisy. However if the hotel was near the harbour I would have no worries about staying there.

Went for a bit of sun to watch celtic in the champions lg hotel was fine and very clean near all the bars and restaurants bit noisy at night coming from the bars down on the strip but it's a lovely place nice pool bar and friendly staff

Brilliant appartments clean and modern and a great location pool area not huge but it's only 10 min walk to Puerto rico beach ,close to the shopping centre will ample bars and restaurants, there are quite a lot of stairs to get the the appartments but that's the nature of the resort but you can get a taxi for a few euros but walking up and down gave us some exercise.

Perfect hotel friendly staff,marvellous bar man,rooms cleaned daily.close to all bars and restaurants about 100+steps down but is a pleasant walk down.taxi back up is only 3 euro.music can be alittle loud at night as the pubs don't close until about 4.30 but after first night it's not a problem

stayed 29th October to 6th November with adult son. Apartment clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff pleasant and helpful. Agree beds quite hard. Steps back from commercial centre manageable depending on your fitness but loads of taxis available and reasonably priced. Only complaint was TV hire, I hired for two days due to forecasted poor weather, not worth it as only 3 English channels. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others if asked.

First time to Gran canaria, cannot rate this place high enough, the rooms and public areas are fantastic modern and clean, pool area wonderful ,plenty of sunbeds and a shower which was so refreshingly cool on very hot days. Snacks and drinks available from 9 to 6pm from poolside bar, reasonably priced and run by a lovely man. All the staff I came into contact with were so nice friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely ,with everything you need in the kitchen area to make a snack meal, fridge freezer kettle toaster microwave,. The balconies are spacious with chairs and table to have your morning coffee while it's quiet, and before it gets too hot! The beds are quite firm orthopaedic mattresses, so if you like a soft bed it's not for you We were on first floor poolside, lovely views of Puerto Rico, but not much privacy as you're seen by everyone at the pool area. The downside it's very very noisy from hotel next door and all the clubs and bars in the centre, it's on the side of a steep valley so all the noise travels up, The rooms don't have air-conditioning, if you want to sleep you have to close the door to block the noise, it's HOT!!! So I recommend earplugs as part of your luggage! Other than that it is a superb hotel and definitely value for money, hope this helps!

Altair Apartments were perfectly described, we had no nasty surprises at all. The accommodation staff are all pleasant and professional, including the maids who we saw each day. The apartment was spotless and facilities were great - having a toaster and kettle is perfect for us. We were on the third floor and the views over the bay were fabulous. However, we were probably a little too close to the nightlife for us but this didn't spoil our holiday at all. The pool is brilliant and pool bar staff very friendly and efficient. However, there was a tendency for a lot of towels to be on the sunbeds in the morning and then were left until early afternoon, surprisingly this was the Brits in the complex. Totally unnecessary though as there are spare sunbeds and umbrellas available. Having the supermarket open 24 hours is great, especially if you are a late arrival like we were. Obviously you pay premium prices but it is well worth it if you can't be bothered to take the 181 steps down to the HiperDino in the Commercial Centre. Another bonus was that neither of us were bitten and we didn't see any mosquitoes... We only saw one cockroach all holiday, which is good going for the Canaries. All in all it was a brilliant holiday and we would definitely return to Altair - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
