SBH Monica Beach Resort

This huge hotel is nicely situated by the coast in Costa Calma though not very close to the town centre. It is predominantly used by German guests so my Spanish didn't improve but my Deutsch did! The hotel was almost full so meal service in the main dining area could be a bit chaotic, particularly at breakfast with so many people moving about. The food was fine, although the choices on offer could have been more varied

Nice hotel, very happy with sea view room. Close to beach for sea walks. Excellent food, vast selection & very good quality. Type of entertainment around main pool not my cup of tea, loud music etc. but its easy to find somewhere quieter.

The place is lovely , rooms are spread out as opposed to being high rise , the food never disappointed us it was fresh and always a good selection , our rooms were cleaned regularly, the staff were friendly and helpful , the beach was great for snorkeling and swimming and very clean , we had a 16 and 18 year with us and we all had a fantastic time , I highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return .

Nice hotel Low maintenance although is clean. Not free wifi Evening entertainment suitable for over 60y Reception stuff looking very angry Food is great So over all its ok, its not ideally bad or good

We had stayed at this hotel twice previously and it was fine. However the stay this year was awful and when we complained they hotel behaved like they didn’t care and blamed the holiday company we booked with. They simply didn’t take responsibility at all. Very disappointing. We stayed 1 week and we put in rooms right next to the pool maintenance work which was basically drilling from 7am to 7pm. This meant using the small children’s pool where the bar was closed. So no where at the hotel to relax with no noise.

Just got back from a brilliant week at Monica Beach Hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times and the food was excellent! Every mealtime was a treat as everything was so fresh. I especially enjoyed the Pasta also the amazing fresh fish that was cooked as you waited. Well done!! The beach was a delight as was the Africa Bar where we enjoyed sitting and watching the world go by..

Fantastic hotel, friendly staff nothing was too much trouble for them, very clean rooms , and very tidy gardens and pathways around the hotel, great food, fantastic beach and location, close to bus route so easy to travel to see other resorts. The decor was very good and modern, the entertainment team worked extreamly hard to make sure everyone had a great time.

Hotel was clean and great view, staff tried really hard to make you feel welcome. Should make the beer glasses a bit bigger though. Would stay again no problem, great beach and a great little bar over the road.

Just returned from holiday. The weather was, at times, disappointing. At the end of the week we had rain, clouds and a cool breeze. Was surprised as it was forecast better than that. On checking in at the hotel we were met by a disinterested receptionist who gave us, what might have been the worst room in the hotel, it smelt of damp. Then we had numerous problems with the card key accessing the room. The disinterested receptionist was bemused and even less interested. Three and a half hours later, after a full day of travelling, eventually the maintenance man came and decided it was the battery. It was sorted in half an hour.Pueblo the other receptionist must have felt sorry for us as he looked at changing the room the next day and we received a bottle of cava for being return clients and being polite and calm in the face of adversity.The next day we moved to a lovely room overlooking the sea, which we had first requested on booking, we could then begin our holiday. It was sunny for the first half of the week and we sat at the African bar enjoying our all inclusive drinks which included cava. The meals in the resteraunt were good and the walks along the long golden beaches were at times bracing, but refreshing , we like this area because of the beach. However the plastic on the beach, especially in front of the African bar, is a problem. We are all guilty of using too much plastic but we need to be much more pro active about this now, not in a years time and all holiday companies and hotels need to be sorting this out instead of handing out plastic cups and straws left right and centre!!Towards the end of the week it started raining and we all took cover under the roof of the African bar until the grumpy bar man David said we had to move as we were causing an obstruction. We weren’t and I felt affronted.There are few English at this hotel, mostly German, French and Italian and we felt a bit isolated. Especially after the incident with the grumpy barman who thinks it’s acceptable to allow his plastic cups to litter the beach.

HiThis is lovely hotel great for families but not somewhere you want to stay to enjoy the night life as there was none. There is a great little restaurant over the road which saved the holiday for us. Hotel is clean food ok not the best we have had. All inclusive drinks stop at 11pm but so does everything else. Pools are lovely and so is beach plenty going on for the kids.
