Vell Mari Hotel & Resort

We booked via Jet2 and stayed in a superior pool view apartment with our three children aged 6, 3 and 1. The hotel grounds are lovely - mature and well kept surrounded by tall trees so when you are in the complex you feel very secluded and relaxed. The pools are brilliant - large central pool plus a separate children's pool which is in a slightly more shaded part of the complex. We spent most of our week in the children's pool which is split into two sections separated by a metal fence (more attractive than it sounds)- one side is more shallow with slide etc for younger kids - other side deeper with a bigger slide for the older kids. This was great for us because all three of our kids were happy there and we could all stay together. Pools were all clean and well kept and I don't think they were heated but they certainly felt really pleasant - refreshing in the hot weather and not too cold. We never reserved a sun bed and never rushed to get to the pool - usually arrived mid to late morning and never struggled to get one or two sun beds. We travelled last week in July. Staff very friendly and courteous. Food good - enough variety for us, decent quality and lots of staples for the kids eg pasta, pizza, chips etc. All inclusive wine was fine. Evening entertainment hit and miss I suppose - but fun for the children and we thought the Wednesday night pool party was brilliant, a highlight for us. Great fire performer. Rooms are dated but perfectly comfortable, everything worked and it was very clean. Daily housekeeping. Excellent air con. Our room had a large ground floor terrace overlooking the pool which we loved. The fence around it wasn't sufficient to keep a child in as a child of any age / size could easily climb through but we were fine with that as we were always watching them and we felt very safe. Generous all inclusive - we were given good sized drinks and never made to feel like anything was being rationed. Lidl right next door if you needed anything and an on site shop with a really good selection of kids toys amongst other things. Lovely beach in c'an picafort - we took the road train from outside the hotel which was fun. We also got a public bus to Alcudia old town which was beautiful and worth the trip. Best thing for us about the hotel was the overall atmosphere - it is very family orientated, I would say the majority of guests are there with children. It is relaxed, no drama, just really chilled out family feel where we felt very safe and happy.

Great family fun break, the animation crew worked incredibly hard & made it fun for all! The game zone for teens could have been open more often & justdance after the show’s on longer for teens & adults but generally a great holiday.

The place is well maintained and offers a lot of entertainment, especially for kids. However, the food and the drinks are low quality. The soft drinks and the cocktails are just mixed chemicals. The beer is cheap stuff. The wine is decent.Loads of food but it's tasteless, sometimes undercooked and barely Spanish. The rooms are outdated (for a 4 star hotel) and don't seem to be soundproofed, you can hear everything, from trucks and buses to screaming babies next door and people walking up and down the stairs. You can almost hear what they talk next door at midnight.The hotel is located in the outskirts, there is no beach nearby but there is a free bus from hotel to the beach running a limited/inconvenient timetable.Also, there are ants in the rooms, including top floors, from nearby pine forests but they know and claim to deal with them if bothers you.Overall, I had severe stomach pain and disorder in the last day. Not saying is hotel's fault but it was the only place I had food and drinks.We've been to far better places in Spain, I don't recommend this place.

We are so happy to have found this little gem on Majorca for my daughte s Girly 30th celebrations. Everything’s about it was FAB ! Apart from the transfer ( too long ) somif we were to come again we’d organise a direct transfer for our party.

A very good hotel with excellent staff throughout,set in a quiet location and very clean. A holiday I would recommend for families with young children not neccesarily for older people. A large mix of nationalities especially germans should be taken into account when booking although for my wife and I it was not a problem.Two slight minuses are the food is not always the hottest and the entertainment finishes between 9.50 and 10.35pm,there is an enclosed lounge that is available till midnight and I think they should make use of this for the older age groups at night.But overall would recommend if you had this information.

This hotel is beautiful. Situated in a quiet part of Can Picafort. Food... lots of choice, always fresh and cooked very well. Accommodation is typically Spanish but very clean. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Pools excellent and clean. In general the hotel is very good. My only downside was the kids entertainment and that the hotel catered more for the Germans than for the Brits. The entertainment team were very friendly and accommodating mostly for German kids though. The kids disco (which is a big part of the holiday for my kids) was poor. All the songs played were in German and didn’t actually get the children excited. The transfer stated approx 1 hour 45 mins, it took just under 3 hours on the transfer. We travelled with Jet2 for the first time and doubt I will travel with them again. Customer service for their 24-7 helpline was disgraceful.
