Cala Mondragó
Nature fiends will be in their element in Cala Mondragó. Twinkling blue waters, pops of plush greenery and blankets of silky white sand provide a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing retreat. With protection from development, Cala Mondragó is a great pick for uncovering the joys of unspoiled Majorca holidays.
Home to a small beach within a natural park, Cala Mondragó is one of the best places to discover the charm of the Balearics. Cala Mondragó Beach may be remote, but its supreme setting means that it’s a top tanning spot. Snorkelling is especially popular here thanks to the almost-transparent waters too.
Walk and watch
The area’s filled with luscious Spanish greenery and the clearest of clear waters, plus a smattering of cove-like beaches. There are many walks of varying difficulty for you to try. You might be lucky enough to see some rare tropical birds, as the Mondragó Natural Park is a favourite nesting spot...
Big on boats
Cala Mondragó is popular with private boat and yacht owners, so it’s got a dazzling beachfront to gawp at. Cala D’Or also lies close to Cala Mondragó – it’s home to many beaches of its own, as well as shops and restaurants, so you’ll be totally catered for!
A fabulous beach of soft, golden-white sand and clear, safe water for family swimming. It’s backed by hotels, has loads of facilities, and does get busy in high season, when there are lifeguards. The area by...

Slightly downgraded just before we went. No reason given.
Totally unsuitable for anyone with any kind of walking difficulty. Loads of steps and inclines. There is only one lift and that is in the main building no lifts in any of the blocks. Be sure to book ground floor if you have any fitness problems.
Very large complex which advertises four restaurants.
The main buffet is the place to go. The Mediterranean is also not bad but being smaller can’t give the same variety as the main buffet.
Beach restaurant is in a good place but has loads of flies. Also not much choice as it is smaller than the main buffet. Beach is lovely and quiet but needs tidying up because of the seaweed.
I didn’t go to the tex/mex so can’t comment.
Hotel is split into blocks and some of them are a long walk to food and drink.
The food trucks are quite good with fresh cooked food which is really hot.
Spacious but a bit dated room. No usb ports. No kettle? But a microwave?
Party of nine. Took about a hour and a quarter to check in. Annoying. When I realised how many steps it would take to get to my room I contacted reception. They were really helpful and managed to relocate us to a ground floor room. 3317. Excellent service.
However the sliding door lock was broken. Very efficiently it was fixed but seemed to throw the air con out. Reported twice but still not working 3 days later.
Food was pretty good. Plenty of choice. However Some of the food was cold and some meat and fish was over cooked and a bit tough. If you are prepared to wait they would cook fresh. Omelettes are also available if you wait.
Hotel got a bit busier so you had to be quick in the morning to get sun beds. Didn’t seem to be enough beds.
Every minute or so the shower went from nice to very, very hot and the tray was also quite slippery.
Entertainment was pretty good but a bit short on places to sit and enjoy.
All in all a reasonable place to holiday but really needs to be updated.

The kids hiking holiday
04 Oct 2017
In a nutshell, our room was a long way away from the main place. So with a 9 year old who's in to all the activities we couldn't stay by our room pool in case they finished early or he wasn't keen on it. The distance from our room was too far for a child to walk on his own.
The golf buggys between the 2 locations were sporadic. I'd recommend proper walking shoes as flip flops fused pain walking backwards and forwards. Had we have known about the distance we would have either not booked this place and now we wished we'd asked to be moved, regardless of he cost.
We also got gastroenteritis which started on the transfer bus.
Place is huge. Too huge. Be ready to get up at 6am to claim your sun lounger. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend.
Restaurant was packed all the time.
Kids are 9 & 6 and we adults are fit and happy - despite me sounding like a right old grump.

Situated in its own complex with all amenities that you will need in self contained resort. Nice bar near the beach with a okay choice of restruants to choose from. Can be very busy at breakfast so pick your times careful. Neat and tidy Hotel that caters for parents with small children. Only minus for me, no live sport shown anywhere in this resort, which for most football fans would be a slight disappoint.

Lovely remote location
03 Oct 2017
Great hotel for kids but far too noisy for adults without children. The main dining room was choatic but the choice of food was good. There were alternative dining restaurants but these were also buffets and had to be booked and there was less choice. One of the alternative fining room closed during the week we were there although the place was still crowded. Great beach short walk down the rise from hotel and morning yoga on the beach was fabulous. Excellent gym instructors.

Great family holiday, busy but great!

Lovely hotel, lovely place.
Food is great. !
Staff is friendly.
Big hello to Pepe in sea soul! (He made my little boy feel very special every time we saw him at breakfast and in the beach bar )
Animation team work really hard, very grateful to them. Shows amazing.
Very busy place.
One day it rained ...and it was cold. They have made a cinema in one of the bars and did face paint and colouring.
Food is yummy. Main restaurant had different theme every night. There was always enough tables.
Other restaurants we had to book the time in advance (no fee) just so it wasn't manic.
Great for the family with kids.

Lovely family holiday
07 Sep 2017
Had a great time at this hotel, while we were far away from the food area in an apartment, there were always buggies on hand to take you to and from room. There were additional pools around apartments as well as a bouncy castle. We had a two bedroom apartment which was really big. All the pool areas were great and while most sun beds were taken early on, we always managed to get some without rushing. The kids loved it all, the sand on the beach wasn't great but it didn't bother us, buggy staff told us of other beaches nearby. Inflatables in shops weren't cheap, but were ok for how much kids used them. If you want to use the a la carte restaurants book as early as possible as they get busy. No need to take your own towels as beach towels provided and can be changed as many times as you want. Overall enjoyed the holiday in this hotel, all staff were pretty friendly and helpful and understood English.

Very high standard of food (lobster/fish).
Ice cream and hot dogs and over snacks available.
Some nice touches with bubbly and chocolates.
Beach and area very lovely.
Room could have better sound proofing like premier inn.
Entertainment covers all ages and is good.

Family Holiday
04 Aug 2017
Our Junior Suite had a poor sea view. Unfortunately when a member of the family used the toilet in the enclosed en-suite the aroma would linger in the room due to the extractor fan not working, the fault was reported on two occasions with reception; however the fault was not fixed.
The cleanliness, service, hotel Location including the swimming pools was good. The Hotel had a lot of smelly washed up sea weed rotting on the hotel beach, however Mondrago beach was wonderful and only a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
The all inclusive restaurants had a good selection of hot food; the evening entertainment was inconsistent and ended at approx 22:00hrs.

Lovely hotel for able bodied people
03 Aug 2017
The hotel complex is lovely. There are numerous pools each has their own benefits. We tended to stay in the ones outside of the central complex as these were quieter and less busy in the pool. Always managed to find a sunbed.
Food was fantastic, something for everyone. Even the fussiest of eaters will find something they like!
Entertainment in the evenings was varied but always good fun.
Having the private beach was a bonus, however I believe the complex sewage system was nearby and certainly the smell was definitely in that area. The sea was quite seaweedy and daughter did get stung by a jellyfish but I guess that is the risk of being in natural water.
The only downside was that the access for buggies or wheelchairs was atrocious. There were steps everywhere, and access for wheelchair was always a long walk round.
The other thing to note is that there are no baths in any of the rooms, only showers. So if, like us, you do have a disabled person with you, bear in mind that there are only showers for washing.
However the staff could not do more to help us.

Good family holiday
09 Jul 2017
The hotel had friendly helpful staff, A good selection of food but the restaurants are a bit busy. We really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant. The hotel has a good range of pools for all ages. The room was clean and well appointed. The only down side is the location, the hotel has poor public transport links so if you are looking to get around you will need to rent a car.
