Monart City

SET YOUR ALARM FOR 6AM if you want a lounger, but please don’t leave the towels there all day (or night) and not bother turning up until 2pm in the afternoon – that is SO unfair but actively happening at Monart City this year. Before booking this hotel, I researched for no pool lounger wars and good wifi (for my son) – out of all choices we chose Monart City. All reviews for 2023 stated the hotel didn’t allow saving of loungers but discussing with staff this year they said ‘what can we do’ ‘it will start a fight’ ‘we know there are not enough loungers for all guests’ – this conversation happened at 6.30am when all loungers were reserved. On the few days we didn’t want to play the game we simply went to the beach where we always got loungers. The beach is sand/pebble mix, and most people had on water shoes, so we didn’t bother going into the sea more than a paddle. The hotel pools are lovely and not at all cold. The slide although not looking impressive was on for 1 hour in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon and was enjoyed by many of all ages. Beach Towels are available to hire for a deposit of £10 each. The wifi was fine when working but constantly dropping out and you had to keep logging on. Once you checkout of your room you do lose it, but reception will take a device and log you back on, we had to do this 3-4 times in the 5 hours we had before our transfer home. The other issue for me (there are positives which I will get to) is the food. I don’t eat meat and I appreciate this will be an issue at whichever AI hotel I stay at, it’s not the first time at any AI but probably the worst. Breakfast for me was fine with plenty of choices of egg, lovely bread and the amazing honey seemingly straight from the hive, sometimes pancakes, pastries of various varieties plus chips randomly enough. Lunch and Evening Meals were a different story. I had to ask a couple of times if a meal was veggie. The hot meal line was quite dark, and I was twice told yes it’s vegetarian, only to get back to my table and find meat in the meal, at one point nobody knew if a pasta dish had meat in it, the exec chef cut into it. When we tried the snack bar, I ordered 2 meals and 2 drinks. One meal was delivered and after 5-10 minutes I chased up the other meal and drinks, they had been forgotten about. Pizza’s (and I was informed Burgers) were lovely but nothing else. Fish of the fish and chips are full of skin and bones so don’t be ordering them for the kids. Pizza finishes at 6p

Honestly I thought the food was rubbish and normally cold,my partner thought it was adequate.The room was normally clean and neat but none of the little touches that make a difference.For the last two days no hot water in shower,Pool area was smaller than expected.If you want British TV forget it.No al a carte restaurant coffee bar always in darkness No snack bar by pool or on beach drinks only

Good hotel overall. Good customer service. Friendly and helpful staff. Good range of food. Late check out available. Sea view rooms available. Hotel arranged extras for my birthday, meal, drinks etc. Rooms on small side. Beds very uncomfortable, need new ones.

Great food and great service and great times Across the road fro.from the beach and bar on the beach. Wear something on your feet as sand grit and Stones get very very hot sea is very clean staff all were excellent and very friendly with all the people who were staying there entament was very good for children and adults.

We stayed for a week here. Staff were very friendly and helpful food was good and plentiful also the drinks were free flowing. It's a bit of a walk into the town but that suited us as we like a walk, I would recommend this hotel for couples and Families

The hotel was very dated and the rooms were very basic no tea making facilities available. All inclusive was very restricted and rationed. The food was not brilliant the only saving grace was the breakfast and snack bar without that we would have not eaten in the hotel on a positive note the staff were very friendly

Traveled to this hotel for a week holiday with boyfriend as our first holiday together. This hotel has everything you need. Rooms are perfect! Choice of food to suit most tastes catered to all. As it's all inclusive there is food and drinks available all day! From restaurant, snack bars, cake cafe, ice cream shop! There is 2 pools one of which has a slide, didn't have trouble really getting a sun lounger. Beach directly across the road with plenty sunbeds, bar which is free, WC and showers available. Evening entertainment was good! Some day activities as well if you fancied it. Highly recommend this hotel, Thank you for such a great holiday!

Hotel clean with good food. Rooms clean balcony a bit on the small side. Staff helpful and friendly. Drinks bar on beach as well as wc. Evening entertainment left a lot to be desired. Overall good holiday.

Lovely hotel. Our room had a double and single bed and plenty of room. We had a balcony - I think all the rooms did. The bathroom was lovely, although the shower cubical was quite small. There wasn't a sheet on the bed, just a thin cotton type blanket, which I thought was strange. This was too warm for me even with the air conditioner on so I mainly just slept on top of the bed. The ladies who cleaned our room spotted a mosquito and immediately got someone to spray the room. Fortunately we didn't get bitten. The staff were very friendly and helpful regarding everything from advice when I was unwell to booking a taxi and everything in between. I couldn't find fault with the food at all - there was always plenty of choice, hot or cold and if the main seating area was full there was an upstairs dining area, though you have to get your food downstairs then carry it upstairs. There was a lift also. The one upstairs was a lot cooler and I preferred this. There are 2 small pools - one on the lower level near the dining area was more child orientated with a slide and had the sun all day. The one near the reception area was quieter and got the sun around 10 am. This had a bar and seating around too. I would definitely go here again but as the transfer time was 3 hrs and the flight 4 I would go for 2 weeks as you loose 2 days travelling. There are a lot of German and Scandinavian visitors as they go to an airport only half an hour away which the British airlines don't fly to. Most of these guests were also very nice.

Initially we had problems on arrival, no cot, balcony had a gap large enough for my toddler to fall through (6th floor) these were resolved quickly with an offer of another room on the 1st floor. We found the rooms a bit small for us as a family but would be adequate for a couple with a child not requiring a cot. From then on can say we had a very enjoyable 2week holiday. The food was great and always something for everyone can get a bit hectic (go upstairs its usually very quiet) the snack bar is brilliant as are the pizzas and the staff can't do enough for you. A must is the a'la cart (lamb shank with mash yummy). The hotel is by far the cleanest I have ever stayed in and nearly all the staff are very friendly and most helpful. (Don't misplace anything as you will probably never see it again!!) The pools are small but perfect to cool down in or have a swim with a slide (only on at certain times of the day. A small play area for the kids and a covered area for relaxation, table tennis, darts or pool. The beach is just across the road (crossing right outside the hotel) very clean with a beach bar and great staff the town is a short enjoyable 15mins walk along the beach front. All in I would definitely recommend this hotel
