Villamarina Club and PortAventura Theme Park

We arrived at the hotel around 11:00 and our room wasn’t ready which we obviously expected that so we got changed and headed to the pool and snack bar. The pools were always lovely and clean and the kids loved eating lunch at the snack bar every day. We ate in the restaurant every day as I didn’t want just fried food. The kids day time entertainment was brilliant and Rob was a superstar. Evening entertainment was also great and they had people come in for the entertainment most evenings. The food was good but we did struggle at breakfast time as it was the same every day but there was more variation for lunch and dinner. The only negative I had was the room size. We had a family room with two double beds but it was a tight squeeze. It was literally a double room that they added another bed into. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to families.

Rooms are small and basic but clean. Not enough sockets. Only 1 in bedroom and 1 in bathroom.Food is good quality and tasty. Entertainment team are great with the guests during the day. All inclusive board. You have to buy a plastic cup (only €1) but you need to take it everywhere with you. No cup. No drink. If you come in after a night out you can't just go to the bar for a drink,You need to back to your room for your cup and come back down. Put me off. The main bar was very slow and minimal staff. Pool side snack bar was good. Food was always fresh. Don't go to port aventura. That's a waste of money. Queues are enormous. Fast passes are €39 each. Rip off.

All staff were lovely and attentive. The hotel itself is pretty basic. Rooms are small but clean. The sink is outside the bathroom and the bath is tiny. Standing at 5'9, I was practically folded in half sitting in it. ( A bath is a great novelty to me as I only have a shower at home). The pool area has two small pools and was always packed. The entertainment area and bar was big and there was live entertainment every night. By the time we had dinner there was no room to sit it was so busy so we didn't stay for any of it. We weren't disrupted by any late night music or rowdy behaviour so that was good. There seemed to be a lot to do for the kids. There is a good variety of food. Dinner was between 7 and 9, personal preference would be to have it a bit earlier. The hotel is in a good location for the beach, about a 10/15 minute walk if you turn left and keep walking straight. There are two supermarkets behind the hotel and walking to PortAdventura took us about half an hour, it would probably take about 10 minutes in a taxi. Location good, staff good, food good, the hotel itself is just pretty basic and dated. We enjoyed our time in Salou and would definitely visit the area again.

It is what it is! Rooms are small but kept clean and food is ok, always something hot to eat. It has some bad reviews but honestly think for what you pay it is above and beyond. Have been to this hotel twice now and would most definitely return. Don’t expect 5* but it is decent for a 3. Travelling as a single mum I felt very looked after and my daughter absolutely loved it

It was fantastic and I would go back and I would mention it to other family members and friends, People was very helpful and the staff was really really really really helpful and friendly.

This hotel was not clean, had ceiling falling down in one of our rooms in the bathroom. There was one single bed to sleep on and two of us in the room. One of us had to sleep in another friends room!!! We asked for extra pillows and the point blank said no. I believe that because we were aged between 18-19, they typically didn’t give a monkeys. The were rude. I would never stay here again and think this hotel needs serious refurb. We would not advise anyone to here and will never go back again.

2 adults 1 child (7) To start off I would like to say the staff made it bearable... Staff really was amazing and couldn't do enough to help, always had a smile on their faces. As many other reviews stated the rooms are tiny and they really were, as long as you have the way of thinking its just to sleep and wash you will be OK. Showers really powerful. Not very sound proof! Could hear everything above and next to us which disturbed sleep quite a bit especially people getting in at 2am laughing and banging around. Balcony was just about big enough to squeeze 2 people on so no nights were spent with a drink on it. The room was tidied on a daily basis but very briefly... beds made and a quick tidy rather than a clean with a cloth or a mop but to be honest it didn't bother us that much. The hotel itself was very dated and could have done with a modernisation but as a hotel itself it was OK. The restaurant was visually OK but food was a bit rubbish and repetitive also on some occasions I believe yesterday's meals were re put out, didn't really eat much of it and I'm usually a big eater so ate out a few days. Food not covered so open to flies to land and make a home, to which is probably why all 3 of us ended up with sickness and diarrhea in the first 2 days as did many other guests. All inclusive was only beneficial for the free drinks really. The pools... Yes they were both dirty had muck floating around and layered on the bottom, why they wouldn't use a pool cleaner/hoover is beyond me. The flies!!! omg the flies that continously land on you is so annoying and is probably because they don't pull out the sunbeds to clean the floor, I moved one and underneath was vile... thick with mud, old food and cups so no wonder why there is so many flies! This hotel has the potential to be so much better with a lick of paint and some hygiene routines enforced but as it stands it's just a bit scruffy. I'm no snob by any means I expected low budget and that's what we got but for less than 1k for all inclusive with flights and transfers I could tolerate it, if I had spent more then I would have been devastated. We spent all our days and nights in salou centre which is such a nice place and spent very little time at the hotel. Entertainment was quite dull so didn't stay in for it. The back games room stank of sewage and couldn't stand being in there for more than a minute. Would I go back? Probably not no.

Not fit for humans. Constant power cuts, water leaking through ceilings, badly maintained air conditioning, sink blocked in bathroom, a health hazzard in every way. Grandson has returned home with ear infections, no doubt due to the dirty water in the pools, which have hair and dirt floating around. No ramps and totally unsuitable for disabled people. Awaiting scan following fall at night during power cut. Electrics obviously dangerous. Rep and hotel management unhelpful

Hotel tired, rooms grubby and in need of upgrade, bedding and towels marked, floors dirty and bathroom in need of upgrade. No sun beds until late in afternoon due to beds being taken very early morning and covered with towels but not being used which is very unfair to those who wanted to stay poolside but couldn’t due to this. Beach 30 min walk from hotel. Children’s facilities great and reps did fantastic job. Food could have been better.

Fab food and entertainment both day and evening. Hotel and rooms are clean. Rooms are small but this didn't bother us. Would recommend that you take an extension lead as only 2 plug sockets in the room and our USB wall sockets didn't work. Overall a fantastic hotel and would definitely go back.

This was the 1st time we had been away with 3 generations. Hotel was great for everyone. Food catered well for the children as well as the adults. Entertainment was just right for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go again.

Visited this hotel for the second time in September 2018.The first time there were problems with kids running through corridors at 3am in the morning,As the hotel has fantastic staff and is in a good location we thought we would give it a second chance.Big mistake.Firstly people above were returning to their room about 12.30 to 1am singing and shouting.Then the couple in the next room had a massive argument screaming and shouting till 2am when security paid them a visit.Then someone above us came in at 3am and had a party in their room.We called security eventually and the noise stopped.Lastly my adult daughter had the man in the next room knock on her door at 1am waking her up.He said he wanted to say goodnight. She could then hear him pacing about outside her door mumbling something.It was reported to security but as he was leaving the next morning he was not spoken to by management who said it was unacceptable behavior.Just got to say a big hug to Daniel in the bar and Jessie in the snack bar great guys.

I would highly recommend villamarina as a place to stay. It is very clean tidy and the staff there cannot do enough to keep you happy. We we originally placed in the apartments across the road from the main hotel but found it was not right for us as family, we spoke to the reception who immediately looked and relocated is to the main hotel. The food is great there is something for everyone! It is in a great location with a short walk to the beach. Shops are just around the corner and with a short walk along the seafront you can get to the main shopping part of salou. The hotel is also just around the corner from the weekly market. Entertainment at the place is amazing! RJP entertainment is excellent. Also I would highly recommend a trip to the house of illusions. This hotel is great and I would definitely go back when I next plan on going to Salou!
