Hotel Best Mediterraneo & PortAventura Theme Park

I've stayed twice now at best mediterraneo, last sep & again this may. Its somewhat different, as the bar was closed at 7.30, pm compared to sep where it was open till 11.30 pm, were the bar reopened inside from 7.30 pm till 11.30 pm. This is probably because I stayed a week before the school holidays, but still that wasn't a problem. Overall the hotel is kept well maintained, clean & tidy throughout the day. Rooms are basic, my room had 2 double beds, double wardrobe with sliding door, 1 side a hanging space, other shelves & a safe, the bathroom is quite large, with a walk in shower & a hair dryer is provided. Now I'm a solo traveller, personally there was plenty of room for me, but anymore than two people, families may find it a tight squeeze, but for the amount you spend in the room its not that bad. Beds are comfortable & there's a mini fridge. I was on the 5th floor room 510, it the corner so I had no one nxt the me, over looking the bar & pool area. Entertainment was a bit hit & miss at times's so I didn't really bother watching, which was karaoke, music & Spanish dancing, I leave that 1 to your imagination!!. Food was always available throughout the day, either from the outside bar area or the restaurant, when 1 closes the other 1 was opened, ( outside bar food was burgers, chips, hotdogs & toasties. The restaurant had a good choice of food, fresh food was prepared, such a omelette, fedh meat & fish ( these always something for everyone). Staff are very polite & friendly, must shout out to Marc, David & Yolanda who served behind both bars. Must say the lifts are very slow at times's, especially when the restaurant is open, the majority of the time i would take the stairs up & down, but this is not possible for some people. The hotel is situated on a bit of a hill, but still close the the main town, just a 10 min walk to the shops & beach, plenty of places to eat & drink. very well organised with well trained staff. excellent choice at all meal times. rooms on the small side not a lot of storage space but well equiped and clean.the bed was sooo comfortable.the pool was of a good size and well used we rarely got a sun bed as the rule of DO NOT LEAVE TOWELS ON SUN LOUNGERS was not followed, but we only wanted to get in the pool and not sun bathe so never complained .there was always plenty of chairs at the pool bar which is where we went ro drip dry and have a drink .

Hotel clean and comfortable, food good but as in Spain only warm, but great choice. Staff very helpful. Only downer animation team rubbish, hotel was full of Spanish oaps on holiday so animation team only spoke spanish. But very happy to say they were replaced durin our last week and things greatly improved. No complaints about anything else. Would go back in a heartbeat.
