Pestana Village Resort

Not 4 star at all, hotel tired, rooms small and scruffy, and food generally basic. To get decent food had to use a la carte restaurant in the sister hotel, which was very good. Available rooms for Jet2 customers were poor, changed first one offered, second was marginally better however view was very marginal over the roof of the reception and bar area which was noisy in the evening as all the entertainment took place there. Found some loveable staff, but generally they could be more courteous and engaging.

Hotel was lovely clean &well kept ,quite a steep incline from road to entrance of hotel so may not be suitable for elderly or infirm ...pool area good with pool bar for drinks snacks etc also showers toilets and changing rooms .you can also use the adjoining hotels facilities which has a jacuzzi & inside & outside pool ..breakfast was very good great choice of hot & cold food ...only thing letting the hotel down was the lack of entertainment and an evening inside bar ...but this wouldn’t put us off the hotel .

What a wonderful place great temperature ( for March 22degrees ) . Fabulous food, scenery, friendly people... Stayed at the Pestana miramar and gardens . Cracking hotel ,everything was perfect. Went into a couple of other Pestana Hotels ,they all seemed just as good. The package from Jet 2 was really good value for money,usually do it all myself but couldn’t beat their deal . Very good service from them as well. Definitely use them again

Very friendly and comfortable hotel set in wonderful gardens. Very convenient for the city centre and many facilities. The staff are a strong point. They are friendly, very professional and try to ensure that you have a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Couldn't fault the Pestana. Great location within walking distance of centre and old town and if you were feeling lazy a regular bus service with the stops just outside the hotel. Everything you could want in the breakfast buffet,

Lovely grounds, pool areas, bar/lounge area, dining room and reception. However rooms/bathrooms could do with some upgrading. Also annoying barking dogs on and off all day from 6 am. Reported to staff who said nothing could be done as was from private house. Could not sit and relax on balcony very much due to this.

From start to end the people /staff, were welcoming, attentive, helpful and in general, a pleasure to be with. No problem was their moto, if you had one it would be fixed or alternatives provided. The facilities were as expected, well maintained clean and comfortable. Certainly a place I would return and probably look at different seasons as so much happens all year round.

Pestana Village provided both comfortable clean accommodation. The hotel itself was spacious and designed in a 'Moorish' style. A bonus for us were the attractive gardens which we enjoyed walking around. A varied buffet style dinner was much appreciated and the friendly staff made the evening meal a good experience. All in all a good way to spend a winter week in Madeira which was, itself, pleasantly warm.

It was a relaxing and pleasant stay at pestana village that really made an impression on my partner and I from day after a late arrival. The facilities were gorgeous and looked busy with guests using them all day. I used the bar and the massage service along with the pool and decks, helping to relax better. Breakfast buffet was delivered to a grand level and I was happy to have a different one where possible. The appearance was attractive, and the tourist office was very helpful and advised us well on what to see, etc

Hotel was very clean and well maintained, Staff were all very freindly, helpful and polite. Food was good with reasonable choice. Very nice maintained gardens around hotel. Disappointed that we had to pay 5 Euros per day to park hire car in hotel car park, I would have expected hotel residents to be able to park for Free.

Beatiful Resort that offers excellent service and accomdation. Staff- super friendly and helpful. Bar/Restaurant- tasty food and wide selection of drinks.Great location- 10minutes walk to city centre.

Lovely surroundings room could do with a few more plugs, had to unplug tele etc to use chargers . Staff very helpful and friendly room cleaned every day. Only had breakfast in resturant , no complaints at all about food . Help youfself to plenty of coffee from coffee machine.

A good size room which included a small kitchen at no extra charge. It had a balcony with table and chairs and a nice view across Funchal. Room was due a lick of paint but was very clean and at the price, no complaints. There was a ceiling fan but no air con, as I stayed in December it wasn't a problem but I wouldn't stay here in the summer Hotel gardens are large and well kept, good lawns and lots of sub tropical plants Pool area was well kept with plenty of loungers

Service was excellent, very helpful in choice of rooms for easy access. Buffet breakfast good variety of food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room very comfortable and spacious. Had a small kitchenette which was very useful.

We enjoyed our stay at the Pestana Village Hotel - good breakfast and friendly staff. A little disappointed with our studio classic room as it was on the ground floor and was a little dark. However it was very spacious and quiet so it didn't present a problem. If you want views, book a superior room on a higher floor or one facing the gardens.

We have stayed at this hotel four times for a month each year always in January all the staff from cleaners to management are so friendly and helpful especially the guest service manager Micaela who is always there to help arranging tours and sort out any other issues you might have
