Vila Recife

Reception is actually on floor 3. Roof Terraces on 4&5 with sunbeds, windy tho. Go thru the fire door, its ok there is no alarm and a handle on the other side. Seagulls a plenty but the cleaners do clean all areas daily. Rooms facing the square with a slight sea view are noisy from the bars. Street View quieter for the bells also 5th floor 505 last room perfect! Rooms meh, but have fridge and aircon/heater. Ask for a hairdryer. Kettle needs a deposit. Safe barrel €15 p/wk. Small pool is down on level 0. There are steps in at one end so no worries about oiking yourself out! Sun is strong. It was cold in the evenings (end of April) you need a warm jacket. It rained a little. No mozzies seen at this time of year. Things about Portugal/Albufeira: same timezone, you don't need a watch during the day as the Igreja Matriz de Albufeira church bells ring every 1/4 hour that you can hear everywhere, wave crescendo along the bay, soft sandy beach. Escalators one side, lift the other. Old town, fab restaurants, good wine, Japanese restaurants, mosiac streets, caipirinha, pastel de nata, noddy train. Im a foodies so loved restaurants: Staar, Bistro, Always try the house wine as its usually very good here.

It's ok for Stag & Hen parties. But for families or couples there are better places to stay. I was sold on the photos online oh dear. The balcony was very small only big enough for one chair. No kettle for that early morning cuppa. Bathroom was dark only a light above the mirror. The soap dish/hand rail in the bath needs moving it was hard to turn round when having a shower you would catch your bottom on it. The room was ok just to lay your head at night until the drunks came in banging on all the doors and the reception would do nothing about it. Only good point is it was a short walk to the town square. But over the road is Eddy's bar for a good breakfast or at night The Blue Bell bar where you get a lovely welcome.

The location of this hotel is great! It's a 5-10 minute walk to the old town square and the beach. The only thing I would say is that the Vila is on a hill for those who struggle with walking etc. The rooms were nice and had small balconies, TV, fridge, a few mirrors. *did not have a hairdryer or kettle for those who care. The pool was nice and there's two additional terraces with sun loungers you can use. The only issue my friend and I had was that the maids clean at 9am and make a lot of noise doing so. Not everyone wants to get up at 9am on holiday.

A very good hotel for location of the old town. Very good staff. Clean pretty basic but good price breakfast is continental but opposite hotel is a bar which serves a cheap English breakfast. This hotel has a swimming pool which is a bonus for people not wanting to walk to the beach.

I liked the location of the hotel, close to the only two (small) museums in Albufiera. I had an old classic style room which I would probably prefer to the modern extension overlooking the pool. the trouble was that Room 300B was very close to both the reception and the main staircase so it was not very peaceful . Two hours breakfast slot only , don't be a minute after 10:00 as everything is switched off and cleared !

Spot on location . The hotel is a bit dated but is clean. Room cleaned every day and fresh towels daily. Small pool but adequate. At first I got room 101 which is in the basement I complained and was given a room on the 4th floor. The girl on the desk was very helpful in arranging it. Merlin bar very good.

We stayed in room 300b poorly maintained plugs didn't work smelled of damp no kettle room was tiny bed was uncomfortable no balcony are the negatives, positives are good air conditioning and friendly staff, rooms kept clean and tidy good central location.. But we would not stay here again

Check in was easy and we were allocated a lovely room with a sea view. Cleaned every day it had a lovely bathroom with good shower. One small gripe, the balcony was tiny with only room for a chair We went room only but ended up having breakfast most mornings as it was all you could eat and delicious for €5. Had a nice pool and some good areas to sit out . Wifi was available in the bar. Good position surrounded by bars and restaurants, and 5 min walk to the beach . Great

Great Hotel, well worth the cost. Room was very nice and clean with regular change of linen if you required it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, also made you welcome each day. Hotel was very close to both the beach and bars and restaurants in the lovely square. One thing to note hotel is up a slight hill, apart from that nothing wrong at all. Had a lovely time.

Location excellent and so is the hotel. It was a very down to earth hotel and so comfortable. Everyone we met was so relaxed and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was a good selection and always fresh supplies.

The hotel is good value for money and is in a good location. Clean and and tidy and rooms cleaned every day towels changed every other day. Staff are friendly and helpful they don't supply none slip mats in the bath and would recommend you take one with you.

The hotel was nice presented with lovely court yard to sit in for a few beers. The rooms got clean everyday but bedding was bit out date yet we didnt mind as we was only use it to rest our heads. The pool was bit of a let down as it was small and had group of segulls nest next to it woth one onccident of two fight near the pool over a half ate fish. Location was brilliant to the old town strip which is lovely. Overall if you just wanting somewhere to rest your head i would recommend this hotel.
