Albufeira
There’s a reason why Albufeira’s one of the Algarve’s most popular resorts – it’s got something for everyone among its golden beaches, whitewashed Old Town and buzzy Strip. Great golf courses? Tick. Neon-lit bars? Yup. Waterparks? You bet. And to top it all off, there are loads of great restaurants offering everything from freshly grilled sardines to international dishes. Families will find their fair share of exciting activites too. We're talking aquariums, go karting and boat trips!
Albufeira has more than 25 stunning beaches to explore. Many of these gems are Blue Flag winners, offering huge stretches of sweeping golden sands and turquoise waters. Whether you’re looking for a quiet cove or a lively beach scene, you’re sure to find it here. As for the water sports, there are loads on offer. Or you can opt for a boat trip along the coast to spot dolphins or see caves.
History v thrills
Albufeira has plenty in the way of history and heritage. Pay a visit to Paderne Castle, a Moorish stronghold, or check out one of the pretty little churches, like Sant’Ana. If it’s action you’re after, take the kids to Electric Karting Albufeira Marina, or try the thrill rides at Aqualand Algarve waterpark.
Nightlife for all tastes
Come evening, it’s all about the Strip, a neon stretch of bars and discos pumping out all-night classics. Here you’ll find karaoke, foam parties and big-name DJs. If you’re after something more family-friendly, you can stick to the Old Town, where the cobbled streets are lined with restaurants and cafes.

I was very surprised with the quality of the hotel with what i paid for it , The room was nice clean and good view overlooking the sea . The food was good standard and plenty choice for breakfast lunch and dinner . The out door BBQ was good . The only problem was the Boat bar they lacked staff always long ques to get beer . You must take in account that you are close to the STRIP bars music noise till 3am . Over all the staff all helpful and would stay again

Shocking
13 Apr 2022
No net curtains in the room leading to lack of privacy as the full wall was glass and being on the ground floor my room was in the passageway for any residents who ventured into my area. Had to request these.
The main curtains were filthy. They were both covered in mould and smelt appalling.
Shower curtain filthy, to the point I moved it away from me when showering as I was not prepared to have the mould spores on me.
Hairdryer broken.
Cockroaches in the apartment. I walked in one evening, switched on the light and saw all of them scurrying back under the fridge.
All in all a terrible experience.

Disappointed
02 Jul 2019
Been many times over the last 16 years to this resort but will not be back, It is not the family resort we loved anymore. It now accommodates large groups of Stags, hens and pub trips. Alcohol induced swearing and stripping around the pool. The all in inclusive bar next to the children's play area has also not been well thought out either. The noise and complete disregard for the youngsters was just awful. Pools dirty with dead flys and insects floating around. tiles cracked and sharp glass tiles from the pool floating around. Sun beds filthy, Management do no want to know. charged ridicules amount for travel cot Not informed before hand. Rep on site not interested. Shrugging his shoulders when complained. I love Portugal and the surrounding restaurants but not this complex any more and it really saddens me to say that. Staff work hard but not enough of them. Paid for a deluxe 1 Bed apart it was very old and and needs complete revamp. 1 Stars worth at best. Daughter and family paid for same type of room and it was equally disgusting standard. Will not be back.

Good Value For Money paid
10 Jun 2019
Was a bit apprehensive after reading so many negative reviews , but pleasantly surprised that most of them were way off the mark , ok the room was small and a bit difficult to find , but as we booked a studio we weren’t expecting anything huge . It was adequate for our needs as we only used for sleeping in , went b & b this trip and found the breakfasts adequate with the typical menu on offer . Would say 3 star based on previous experiences, but you get what you pay for at the end of the day . Never heard any noise from stags or hens at all

In the midst of trepidation!
04 Jun 2019
After having read a number of reviews that weren’t very complimentary about the hotel, it was with some trepidation that we entered the “lions den” on our arrival. All I can say is some people must be very hard to please. Reception couldn’t have been more helpful, porterage was provided taking our luggage and belongings direct to our apartment. Very good service. The only fault and really we shouldn’t complain, was the room was on the small side. The room had everything you needed, was cleaned every day, beds changed every day and towels changed regularly. We have no complaints, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Don't stay at Clube praia da oura, its gone down hill drastically.
26 Feb 2019
Stayed on a weeks holiday feb 2019. Awful! My parents bought a time share 31 years ago when Jack Petchey of Petchey leisure owned it. Amazing! out of this world. It was the place to be, Everybody wanted to be apart of it. So 20years ago I introduced my family to it. We all used to go when it was my parents time share week even again later on in the year. We loved it. Then my parents gave up the time share after many years but we all still went on package holidays over the years. We last saw I big difference when we went 4 years ago how standards had dropped and how different the accommodation had started to look. Not in a good way may I add. So when we stayed this time what a shock. On arrival Skelton staff at reception and nobody I recognised. Piano bar in reception closed, swimming pool closed. It looked dead everywhere. Got to our apartment given the wrong key then with no help as there is no porters anymore. Opening the door it had a very funny, damp and unpleasant smell so tried to open patio door to let in air but couldn't so gave that up.Floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned so after unpacking we gave it a brush and there was rather a lot of muck. Then we mopped it with no bucket so wiped it dry with a towel and well it was disgusting. So only realising late on at night the pull out sofa bed mattress had rather a lot of stains on it. Not very nice for my daughter to sleep on. So in the morning I complained at reception and all I got back from an Asian manager was I will get the made to clean the floor but I tried to explain we had already cleaned it. I explained about the cleanliness and the bed which she looked blank at me and said I don't understand this word cleanliness. I then asked to speak to someone else who could help, I spoke to a lady called Maria and she another manager who was very nice and helpfull. We moved apartments which was a bit better but not much and we had to unpack again. No tea towel so went to reception for one and again asian manager said well soon it will be turned into a hotel so you won't need a towel, which was no use to me there and then. When we got a towel in the apartment late it was stained and dirty. Terrible! We were given free breakfast for the rest of the week but we went once and all I can say is its cheap slop. Like everything now at clube praia da oura everything is done on the cheap. Even speaking to the locals who I've known over the years said its bad. Wont stay there ever again. Its had its day RIP CPO

10 days of beautiful sunshine.
27 Jul 2017
We did 10 nights self catering in a standard studio apartment. The studio we were allocated was tiny. We asked to be moved and was given a bigger, nicer room. Air conditioning would have been nice as it was averaging 30° daily. The housekeeping was hit and miss and we had to phone reception to ask for clean towels. The resort is popular with Hen and Stag parties and the hotel was noisy in the early hours! The New Town /Strip was not for us. It was very noisy, dirty and there was lots of broken glass on the paths. Albufeira Old Town is nice but can also be noisy at night. The beach is lovely and very quiet until 3pm ...when all the party goers surface. We didn't use the pool as there wasn't enough parasols and it was so hot! We preferred to pay for 2 sunbeds and a parasol on the beach for €15 a day . The hotel has lots of steps and the resort is fairly hilly.... could be an issue for people with mobility issues or families with young children and buggies.

Standard of cleanliness poor
04 Apr 2017
Basic cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired Room service practically non existent - beds never made
Floors never washed
But they did change the towels daily !!
It could be a fabulous holiday resort but at the moment
it is lacking in basic standards

Not an all inclusive
04 Oct 2016
Do not book all inclusive at this hotel.
You can only get 1 drink at a time, it's advertised as drinks 10 am - 11 pm, but it doesn't start til 12.00 and that's only if you are at the beach bar, there's no drinks round the pool til 2 pm, not even water or soft drinks, this hotel is obviously not concerned. About the health and safety of their guests as pool opens at 9 and you can't get a drink whilst 2 unless you trail down to the beach bar, but don't forget you can only get drink at a time and hotel rules say you can't take drinks out of the beach bar area, but if you leave you're subbed unattended they remove the towel, you can't w!. At most all inclusives you can get a snack or ice cream during the day, but not at this one, it's only 5- 6pm you have to go to restaurant for it and coincidentally it's at the same time as the pool entertainment so kids are busy playing water polo/water dancing whilst it's snack hour, well done this hotel more money you have saved!
The location of the hotel is good for the strip but it's about all it's got going for it, room was shabby and again falsely advertised as having air con when it didn't (though think this was jet2 error)
This is the must money we have ever spent on a all inclusive holiday then to top it off had to spend another £20000 extra in drinking/eating out, oh and the entertainment was awful, thought the cats were screechin when the 4 divas lady sung absolutely awful.

Great Family Holiday
03 Aug 2016
Stayed her with my husband and grown up daughter in a one bed apartment, my other daughter and her 6 year old daughter stayed just below us in a studio. Both accommodations were great! Clean and well furnished. Our accommodation was beside the children's pool, which suited us well, and just a stone throw away from the beach. There was plenty of choice at breakfast buffet, and dinner, with free drink, wine or beer at evening meal! The staff were very pleasant, and so helpful, especially on check in as we were early, and the girl managed to give us rooms beside each other. The entertainment staff were superb!! We thoroughly enjoyed evening entertainment, something for all ages, catered so well for the kids, with bouncy castles each evening too. Kids club was good for our 6 year old, she made friends and the staff again friendly and helpful, we were confident to leave her with them. Would certainly return here in the future.
