Paphos Castle

Uncover the turbulent history of Paphos Castle, on the edge of the harbour. Originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour, it was destroyed in an earthquake in 1222 and later restored by the Ottomans in the 16th century. Learn how it served as a fortress, prison and even a salt warehouse.
