Las Ramblas (often just called 'La Rambla') is a famous central boulevard in Barcelona, Spain. It stretches for about 1.2 kilometres (0.75 miles) from Plaça de Catalunya down to the Christopher Columbus Monument at the port. It's a pedestrian walkway flanked by narrow one-way traffic streets on either side. It's known for its vibrant atmosphere, street performers, flower stalls, shops, and a mix of both locals and tourists.
Las Ramblas runs through the heart of Barcelona's old city (Ciutat Vella). It borders the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) and El Raval neighbourhoods. Its northern end starts at Plaça de Catalunya, a major transportation hub and city square.
Las Ramblas is known for its lively atmosphere, street performers (living statues), flower stalls, newsstands, tourist shops, restaurants, and historical architecture. It's a popular, albeit often crowded, spot for tourists to stroll and experience the vibrant energy of Barcelona.
Early mornings or late evenings are generally less crowded. Weekdays tend to be less busy than weekends.
