The waterfront cafés and restaurants in Veliki Zaton offer traditional Croatian delicacies and wine in an idyllic, peaceful setting. Konoba Kasar is a popular choice for its brilliantly executed daily menu of the freshest fish, and its location in an old boathouse with a terrace jutting out onto the sea.

Walk along the coast from the Mali Zaton bay to the larger Veliki Zaton bay to reach a lovely pine forest, with trails leading to beautiful spots hidden away in the woods. For a more challenging hike, take the trail uphill to the nearby village of Podbrezje, on the way to the Mocilska Cave.

Stikovica Beach, in a natural inlet with beautiful views, is a popular weekend spot for locals but visit during the week and it's the epitome of tranquillity.
