Austria Trend Parkhotel Schonbrunn

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, however were somewhat disappointed with one or two things. We had to ask to have the beds separated, even though I'd confirmed with Jet2 that we'd booked a twin room. Although we were informed on arrival that we'd been upgraded, we were somewhat disappointed in the location of the room (ground floor - made us wonder where the original room had been). There were only 4 coathangers for the two of us and although having asked 3 times, no coathangers appeared. We helped ourselves to hangers on a rail in a corridor. The staff were very pleasant but we felt could have been more helpful in giving us information we sought. The decor and food (breakfast) were very good.

The position of the hotel was excellent being on the outskirts of the city but opposite the tube station. Tube took approximately ten minutes to reach the city centre. We were able to walk to Schonbrunn Palace and did so, twice! The hotel was comfortable with everything you would require but when I asked where the tea tray was, was told I would have to pay extra, since Jet2 had negotiated a rate which excluded tea tray in room. However, at 6 Euros for this necessity it wasnt too bad. Breakfast was plentyful and satisfying and the dining room like the ballroom of a palace! Altogether an enjoyable stay. Staff were pleasant polite and helpful.

Jet 2 holiday package offered an annex room only at the back of the hotel. Carpet dirty and room very disappointing. Luckily we found ladies knickers in wardrobe and asked for free upgrade as compensation. This was immediately agreed by hotel manager and we were put into a suite at the front of the hotel which was fabulous. The bedroom had a large balcony overlooking the Schunbrunn Palace gardens and the bathroom was very luxurious. Breakfasts provide everything you could ever want and staff are friendly and helpful.

The Trend Parkhotel is a fabulous hotel. The breakfast was excellent with so much cholce, no one could go hungary. The hotel itself is just across the road from the train station, travel time approx 20 minutes to the centre of Vienna. The zoo is about 100 yards from the entrance to the hotel, which is a must to visit.
