Keri
Keri’s best known for its historic lighthouse and beautiful sunsets. Pine trees wrap around the resort, so keep your cameras on you for that perfect snapshot. When you're not kicking back, bargain hunt in the souvenir shops or sup up at the Wine Festival if you’re in town.
At one with nature
Keri is the place to be for wildlife-lovers. The beach is made up of both sand and pebbles, and is lapped by twinkling turquoise waters. The area is famous as a place to spot turtles too, so be sure to keep your camera close to hand; it’ll be shellfies aplenty!
A traditional retreat
You won’t find restaurant chains or high-rise buildings here; instead you’ll be blessed with charming cafes, narrowing streets and buildings brimming with character. You’re about 20km away from the island’s capital so if you’re in search of something a little livelier – this might be the one.
Nearby things to do
The beach is a medium-sized stretch of coastline with not much sand but many small round pebbles. A nearby taverna offers some great seafood options and some cool beers and cocktails to relax in the sun with. There are small boats for rent, sea-bicycles and also canoes to explore nearby coves with.
Not too far away is Limni Keriou. It’s a long, calm bay that stays relaxed and not too busy throughout the year. There is a charming little port where you can see local fishing boats and some really good restaurants serving whatever has been caught that day. The beach there has a few sun loungers too.
Wine festival
Keri, Zante
Zante has been known for a very long time to produce some wonderful wines. The delicious beverage, grown all around, is celebrated at the wine festival in Keri’s square. It’s right by the lake and goes on way into the night, giving you the opportunity to sample many of the different varieties on offer.
