The main beach is home to pastel-coloured parasols, and plenty of space for you to laze a few hours away. Locals and visitors alike love to get stuck into a few different water sports, so you’ll see the shorefront become the centre of action throughout the day. Need refreshments? Hit the beach bars!
Beyond the classic Greek tavernas, churches and buildings of the resort, there are some superb sights around the area of Chania. From archaeological museums to fascinating old tombs, there’s plenty for history buffs to enjoy. Meanwhile, waterparks and a handful of scenic walking trails will keep active types busy.

Smooth sands and bright blue seas is what it’s all about in Aghia Marina. This chilled-out resort opens up to an expanse of sunny spots, so put down a towel and relax, or take an afternoon stroll in the balmy weather. You’ll catch glimpses of Theodorou Island ahead.

The Cave of Nerospilia – or "Water Cave" – is home to a set of marvellous stalactites and stalagmites. It was originally a sacred area and place of worship in the age of the Minoans. It’s just over 1km south of the village centre, so it’s not far by car.

This island and nature reserve is a thing of beauty. Not only that, but it’s home to Kri-kri goats. These remarkable creatures are native to Theodorou. And according to legend, monsters were transformed into hunks of rock that now make the island. You can’t actually visit this private isle, but you can appreciate its beauty from the water on a boat trip.
