You’ll find heaps of places for tucking into some Croatian treats in Trogir – you really will be spoilt for choice. There are Italian options such as pasta and pizza, and you won’t have to go far to find somewhere dishing up delicious fresh seafood and grilled meats.
The city of Split is truly enchanting, and as soon as you set eyes on its awe-inspiring architecture and majestic monuments, you’re destined to be amazed. You’ll get a really modern feel from the get-go, with the palm-line promenade stealing the show. The mix of old and new that makes it so appealing.
Trogir, Split and Dalmatian Coast
The old quarter of the town is UNESCO-listed and popular with tourists in peak season. Apart from the cathedral, palaces, and museums, you’ll find the town’s history spread through the streets in old plazas and hidden courtyards. There are loads of bars, restaurants, and shops for pit stops.
Trogir, Split and Dalmatian Coast
The square is the centre of life in Trogir. It’s overlooked by a big clock tower and old buildings. It gets particularly busy during the summer months when tourists flock to eat in the nearby restaurants, drink in the bars, and go souvenir shopping. The nearby medieval alleyways are often quieter.
Trogir, Split and Dalmatian Coast
Opposite Trogir's large cathedral is the Cipiko Palace, once the home of the prominent medieval Cipiko family. The building itself is really two palaces that were merged together as the family grew richer, and was created by the architects Firentinac and Alesi. The carved Venetian gothic window is very impressive.
