There might not be many fishing boats dotted around, but the harbour and marina are still at the core of Los Cristianos. This is where you can hop on a glass-bottomed vessel or cast off on a whale-watching trip. You can even take a ferry to the smaller islands.
A wide, curving expanse of golden sand, Playa de Las Vistas is a beach where you can really stretch out. Wander nearer the middle of town and you’ll clap eyes upon Playa de los Cristianos, while Playa Callao is smaller and more secluded. Its rockier parts offer a perfect suntrap.
Los Cristianos, Tenerife
Los Cristianos Beach is a beautiful, wide sandy bay framed by the volcanic peak of Mount Guaza. It’s the perfect place to stretch out and soak up the sun. Sheltered by a long pier, the turquoise sea is nice and calm. As a tourist hotspot, the beach has recently been upping the style stakes to increase its appeal.
Los Cristianos, Tenerife
This huge and popular beach was created using golden sand shipped over from the Sahara. There are rows of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, and lifeguards on-site beside the volleyball nets. Beyond the water’s edge, thrill-seekers can check out the paragliding, jet-skiing and banana boats. A range of restaurants cater to every taste.
Los Cristianos, Tenerife
Traditional Canarian culture is celebrated throughout the year, so why not time your visit to coincide with one of the colour fests? Highlights include the Carnival Parade in February or March, the International Folklore Festival and week-long Fiesta del Carmen at the end of August.
