You’ll find the usual batch of English and Irish pubs rubbing shoulders with modern bars and restaurants, but things don’t get too hectic. Take your pick from the local watering holes and enjoy a few pints in a more relaxed Menorcan setting – it’ll easily beat being at home.
To cater for the modern and well-heeled, there’s an international flavour to cuisine available here in Cala’n Forcat. Popular franchise restaurants are around most street corners, but for more of a local flavour there are traditional eateries serving rich Spanish meals, so get ready to have your fill.
Cala'n Forcat, Menorca
The forked cove of picturesque Cala'n Forcat is famous for its many bathing platforms and pretty bridges that connect the inlets. Spend the day sunbathing, while overlooking the shallow turquoise pools, or explore them yourself and float along the unruffled stream or snorkel along the seabed.
Menorca
Take a tour of Bodegas Binifadet to find out how wine is made. The wineries here can be visited all year round and the tours give a comprehensive history of Binifadet wine and show you how it's produced and stored. The bodega is open Monday to Friday but the restaurant attached is open every day.
Menorca
Postcards may be a little bit passé, but if you've ever seen one of Menorca it will undoubtedly be of the virgin beaches at Macarelleta. The shallow waters give the bays a tropical turquoise hue and it's less-crowded than other beaches nearby and a stunning place to swim and sunbathe. In high season, it's best accessed by bus.
