The sands here are backed by mountains and sheltered in a horseshoe bay. Make your way to the warm and inviting Mediterranean waters, and you can watch the lapping waves from the many waterfront bars and restaurants. Combined, they’re a big reason why Puerto Pollensa’s so popular.
Bring comfortable walking shoes and take full advantage of the Pine Walk and Puerto Pollensa’s position not far from the Formentor peninsula. If you want to take in the sights of the island during your Majorca holiday, join eager hikers on the 3km walk through the Boquer Valley to the ocean on the other side.
Get a feel for bygone times as you drop by the weekly market. If you’re after a bit of history, jump on the bus for the 15-minute ride to Pollensa Old Town and take a tour of this medieval old town, hemmed in by a still-standing 14th-century wall. There are 365 steps to the sanctuary at the top, mind!
Puerto Pollensa, Majorca
Need a break from the beach? This traditional Majorcan town is the perfect place to go for some peace and quiet. Wander down the narrow medieval streets to the buzzing Placa Major to enjoy a coffee in the sun before trekking up the 365 stairs to the top of Cavalry hill. The views are worth it, we promise.
Puerto Pollensa, Majorca
The coastline at Pollensa Bay is perfect for water sports. Try your hands at water-skiing, jet-skiing, banana-boating or paragliding. The beach's crystal clear waters also make it a great spot for scuba divers. If you'd prefer something a bit more relaxing, why not hop on one of the boat tours or simply watch from your sunbed?
Puerto Pollensa, Majorca
Puerto Pollensa is a great place to go diving. There are lots of rocky areas to be explored and even some sunken wrecks. The visibility is usually very good, so you can see what's going on under the water. There are two main schools you can go with that both offer training for PADI qualifications.
